With the aims to raise awareness about the crime
of human trafficking as a serious crime and a violation of human rights, and to
enhance the capability and skills of prosecutors to adequately detect
trafficking cases and implement existing anti-trafficking legislation to
end impunity for traffickers and securing justice for victims,
prosecutors training on trafficking in persons and protection of victims’ rights conducted in Sylhet.
The training were held at Hotel Rose View in
Sylhet on 10-11 June 2016 respectively. A total number of 20 Public Prosecutor, Additional Public
Prosecutor, Special Public Prosecutor and Assistant Public Prosecutors from
different 4 Districts under the Sylhet division attended the training.
The training sessions were interactive with vigorous
discussions, questions and answers, group work, presentations and demonstrations
which increased the awareness of the crime of trafficking
among non-specialist prosecutors and strengthened their capacity to recognize
and understand the basic legal concepts, trial issues, and practical concerns
that arise in TIP cases.
Prosecutors’ training help the participant to increase their knowledge on
human trafficking laws and prosecution technicalities.
