JMBF asserts that the deliberate attack on the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, along with the targeted assaults on the residences and business establishments of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other prominent leaders of the Bangladesh Awami League, represents not only a disgraceful act of lawlessness and a direct affront to our nation’s values but also a blatant violation of the democratic principles enshrined in the Constitution of Bangladesh.
JMBF further expresses deep concern that these reprehensible incidents were orchestrated under the guise of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement—a guise exploited not to advance genuine social justice, but to foment violence and undermine the rule of law. Equally disturbing are credible reports indicating that segments of this unrest were provoked and directed by external influences, including a French-based Bangladeshi YouTuber and a US-based Bangladeshi YouTuber, whose inflammatory rhetoric incited public anger and contributed to the escalation of this crisis.
Robert Simon, a prominent French human rights activist and Chief Adviser of JMBF stated,
"In light of the museum’s historical significance as a revered repository of Bangladeshi national memory and the enduring legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, these actions are far more than mere acts of vandalism. They represent a deliberate attempt to erase the historical narrative of Bangladesh’s struggle for independence and to undermine the cultural identity painstakingly forged over decades."
Advocate Shahanur Islam, a Bangladeshi human rights lawyer and Founder President of JMBF, stated,
"These acts are not isolated criminal events; they represent a brazen violation of the Constitution of Bangladesh, which guarantees every citizen the inalienable rights to security, property, and dignity. Moreover, they starkly contradict internationally recognized human rights standards that condemn all forms of violent extremism, hate incitement, and the destruction of cultural and historical assets."
JMBF calls upon the international community—including the United Nations, the European Union, various countries’ diplomatic missions in Bangladesh, international human rights organizations, and civil society—to hold the current interim government accountable for its role in perpetrating these violent incidents under the pretext of social justice. We demand that the interim government immediately restore order and reaffirm its commitment to the Constitution of Bangladesh and to international human rights norms.
Furthermore, JMBF demands that law enforcement agencies who remain silent in the face of these acts of violence be held accountable. All individuals responsible for inciting and perpetrating these attacks must face the full weight of the law. We also call for the formation of an independent investigative commission, under the aegis of the United Nations, to impartially examine all facets of these events—including the involvement of external provocateurs—so that justice may be delivered swiftly and transparently.
JMBF remains vigilant in monitoring the evolving human rights situation in Bangladesh and urges all responsible authorities to take decisive steps to prevent further escalation, ensuring that the rule of law is upheld without compromise and that every act of violence is met with the full measure of justice.

এই কর্মকাণ্ড এমন একটি গোষ্ঠীর দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয়েছে, যারা নিজেকে “অ্যান্টি-ডিসক্রিমিনেশন স্টুডেন্ট মুভমেন্ট” হিসেবে উপস্থাপন করছে এবং যারা নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত প্রফেসর মোহাম্মদ ইউনুসের নেতৃত্বাধীন বর্তমান অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের প্রত্যক্ষ সমর্থনে উল্লেখিত ধ্বংসাত্বকমূলক কর্মকাণ্ড পরিচালনা করছে বলে স্পষ্ট অভিযোগ রয়েছে; যা আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার মানদণ্ড অনুযায়ী মানবাধিকারের সুস্পষ্ট লঙ্ঘন হিসেবে জেএমবিএফ দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করে।
বঙ্গবন্ধু মেমোরিয়াল মিউজিয়ামের বিরুদ্ধে এই সুসংগঠিত হামলা এবং প্রাক্তন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ও অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাদের বাসভবন ও ব্যবসায়িক প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহের উপর সুপরিকল্পিত হামলা, লুটপাট, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও ভাংচুর কেবল আইনবিরোধী ও অশ্লীল কর্মই নয়, বরং বাংলাদেশের সংবিধানে নির্ধারিত গণতান্ত্রিক নীতিমালার সুস্পষ্ট লঙ্ঘন বলে জেএমবিএফ বিশ্বাস করে।
প্রখ্যাত ফরাসী মানবাধিকার কর্মী ও জেএমবিএফ-এর প্রধান উপদেষ্টা রবর্স সিমন বলেন,
"বঙ্গবন্ধু স্মৃতি জাদুঘরটি বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় স্মৃতির মর্যাদাপূর্ণ সংগ্রহস্থল এবং বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের অবিচ্ছিন্ন উত্তরাধিকার হিসেবে এর ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব বিবেচনায়, এই কর্মকাণ্ড কেবল বিধ্বংসের কাজ নয়; এগুলি বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের ঐতিহাসিক বর্ণনা মুছে ফেলার এবং দশক ধরে গড়ে ওঠা সাংস্কৃতিক পরিচয়কে ধ্বংস করার একটি সুস্পষ্ট প্রচেষ্টা।"
বাংলাদেশি মানবাধিকার আইনজীবী ও জেএমবিএফ-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি অ্যাডভোকেট শাহানুর ইসলাম বলেন,
"ধানমন্ডির বঙ্গবন্ধু মেমোরিয়াল যাদুঘর সহ সারা দেশে আওয়ামীলীগ নেতাদের বাড়ি, ব্যবসায়িক প্রতিষ্ঠান ইত্যাদির উপর লুটপাট, আগুনপ্রজ্জ্বলন এবং ধ্বংসাত্বকমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডের ঘটনা কেবল বিচ্ছিন্ন বা একক অপরাধমূলক ঘটনা নয়; বরং বর্তমান ইউনুস সরকারের আমলে সারা বাংলাদেশে চলমান মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনের এক স্পষ্ট চিহ্ন মাত্র। এই ঘটনাগুলো বাংলাদেশের সংবিধানের স্পষ্ট লঙ্ঘন, যা প্রতিটি নাগরিককে নিরাপত্তা, সম্পত্তি ও মর্যাদার অধিকার প্রদান করে। এছাড়াও, এসমস্ত ঘটনা আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে স্বীকৃত মানবাধিকার মানদণ্ডের সুস্পষ্ট বিরোধী, যা সহিংসতা, ঘৃণা উত্তেজনা ও সাংস্কৃতিক ও ঐতিহাসিক সম্পদ ধ্বংসের মতো মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনজনিত সকল ঘটনার নিন্দা করে।"
জেএমবিএফ আরও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করে যে, এই নৃশংস ঘটনাগুলি “অ্যান্টি-ডিসক্রিমিনেশন স্টুডেন্ট মুভমেন্ট” নামের ছদ্মবেশে সংগঠিত হয়েছে – এমন একটি ছদ্মবেশ, যা আসল সামাজিক ন্যায়বিচারের অগ্রগতির পরিবর্তে সহিংসতা ও আইনশৃঙ্খলা হ্রাসের জন্য কাজে লাগানো হয়েছে। তদুপরি, বিশ্বাসযোগ্য সূত্র অনুসারে জানা গেছে যে, এই অশান্তির কিছু অংশ বহিরাগত প্রভাব দ্বারা প্ররোচিত ও পরিচালিত হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে রয়েছেন একজন ফ্রান্স-ভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশী ইউটিউবার এবং একজন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র-ভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশী ইউটিউবার, যাদের উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ বক্তব্য জনসাধারণের মধ্যে রাগ সৃষ্টি করে সঙ্কটের তীব্রতায় ভূমিকা রেখেছে।
জেএমবিএফ বর্তমান অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারকে এইসব সহিংস কর্মকাণ্ড সংগঠিত করার প্ররোচনা প্রদান ও বন্ধ করতে না পারার জন্য দায়বদ্ধ করে, প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায় – বিশেষ করে জাতিসংঘ, ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন, বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন দেশের কূটনৈতিক মিশন, আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার সংস্থা ও সিভিল সোসাইটির প্রতি জোরালো আহ্বান জানায়, যাতে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার অবিলম্বে শৃঙ্খলা পুনঃস্থাপন করে বাংলাদেশের সংবিধান ও আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার নীতিমালার প্রতি তার প্রতিশ্রুতি পুনরায় নিশ্চিত করতে পারে।
এছাড়াও, জেএমবিএফ দাবি করে যে, যারা এইসব সহিংস কর্মকাণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা নিতে ব্যর্থ হয়েছে, সেসকল আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থার বিরুদ্ধে যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে এবং এই হামলার প্ররোচনা ও পরিচালনার জন্য দায়ী সকল ব্যক্তিকে আইন অনুযায়ী কঠোর শাস্তির মুখোমুখি করার দাবি জানায়।
জেএমবিএফ জাতিসংঘের তত্ত্বাবধানে একটি স্বাধীন তদন্ত কমিশনের গঠনকেই জরুরী বলে দাবি করে, যার মাধ্যমে এই ঘটনাগুলির প্রতিটি দিক – যার মধ্যে বহিরাগত প্ররোচকও অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে – নিরপেক্ষভাবে তদন্ত করে স্বচ্ছ ও দ্রুত ন্যায়বিচার নিশ্চিত করা যাবে।
জেএমবিএফ বাংলাদেশের চলমান মানবাধিকার পরিস্থিতি নিবিড়ভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ করছে এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষকে আইনশৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতির উন্নয়ন ঘটানোর ও প্রতিটি সহিংসতা কর্মকাণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে সম্পূর্ণ ন্যায়বিচার নিশ্চিত করার আহ্বান জানিয়েছে।
