JMBF Joins Political Leadership Entrepreneur Network (PLEN), Expanding Its Global Engagement

Membership connects JMBF with a global network of more than 200 organisations working to strengthen political leadership and democratic governance

Paris, France | 03 October 2026:
JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) is pleased to announce its membership in the Political Leadership Entrepreneur Network (PLEN), a global network convened by the Better Politics Foundation that brings together organisations and innovators working to strengthen political leadership and democratic governance around the world.

The Better Politics Foundation recently announced that PLEN had welcomed 25 new member organisations and expanded into three additional countries—Bangladesh, Bolivia and Finland—bringing the network to 203 member organisations worldwide.

The Political Leadership Entrepreneur Network connects organisations and political leadership entrepreneurs working across different stages of what the Better Politics Foundation describes as the Political Leadership Impact Path—from identifying and developing potential leaders to supporting effective leadership in public life.

JMBF’s membership represents an important expansion of its international engagement and provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with organisations working on democratic participation, accountable leadership, human rights, social justice and inclusive governance in different parts of the world.

As a France-based, non-partisan human rights organisation with activities concerning Bangladesh and internationally, JMBF works to defend human rights, promote social justice and empower marginalised communities. Through its advocacy, monitoring, research and international engagement, the organisation seeks to strengthen respect for fundamental freedoms, democratic principles, accountability and the rule of law.

Advocate Shahanur Islam, Founder President of JMBF, welcomed the membership, stating: “We are delighted that JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France has joined the Political Leadership Entrepreneur Network. Becoming part of this international network creates an important opportunity for JMBF to exchange experiences, learn from innovative initiatives around the world and contribute our perspectives from Bangladesh and France. We look forward to engaging constructively with fellow PLEN members in advancing inclusive, accountable and rights-based political leadership.”

The membership also provides JMBF with opportunities to build relationships with organisations addressing challenges around political leadership and democratic institutions in diverse national contexts and to share lessons arising from its human rights work.

JMBF particularly welcomes the expansion of PLEN to Bangladesh, which was identified by the Better Politics Foundation as one of the three new countries represented in the network.

With PLEN now comprising 203 member organisations worldwide, JMBF looks forward to contributing to exchanges and collaborative learning within the network while continuing its commitment to defending human rights, promoting social justice and empowering marginalised communities.
