RECRUITMENT: Call for Mentors — Work With Your MEP 2027

We are already recruiting for our 2027 Work with your MEP edition.

Together with JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), Asian Voices Europe, and PLACE Network, Diaspora Vote is recruiting eight volunteer mentors from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands for the 2027 edition of the Work With Your MEP programme.

This is a volunteer role, requiring an average commitment of 5-10 hours per month from November 2026 to December 2027, including online meetings and 2/3 in-person events (covered). A total compensation of approximately €500 is provided for this role.

প্রেক্ষাপট ও উদ্দেশ্য: বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, চিকিৎসা মহাবিদ্যালয় ও উচ্চশিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে সমকামী, উভকামী, রূপান্তরকামী, আন্তঃলিঙ্গ এবং অন্যান্য যৌন ও লিঙ্গ বৈচিত্র্যময় শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের যৌন অভিমুখিতা, লিঙ্গ পরিচয় বা লিঙ্গ প্রকাশের কারণে বৈষম্য, হয়রানি, হুমকি, ব্যক্তিগত গোপনীয়তা লঙ্ঘন, আবাসন থেকে বহিষ্কার, শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা এবং সামাজিক নিপীড়নের শিকার হওয়ার অভিযোগ রয়েছে। বিশেষভাবে দিনাজপুরের হাজী মোহাম্মদ দানেশ বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং ঢাকার সরকারি ইউনানি ও আয়ুর্বেদিক মেডিকেল কলেজ-সহ বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে যৌন ও লিঙ্গ বৈচিত্র্যময় শিক্ষার্থীদের নিরাপত্তা, মর্যাদা ও অধিকার নিয়ে উদ্বেগ রয়েছে।
