Paris, France | 14 July 2026: JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) has joined 42 other civil society organisations, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), and an independent United Nations mandate holder in signing an open letter calling on the European Parliament to urgently clarify reports that the Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) has been excluded from participation in European Parliament activities, beginning with the European Youth Event (EYE).

JOINT STATEMENT: Condemning Politically Motivated Exclusion, Intimidation, and Interference in the Democratic Governance of the Legal Profession in Bangladesh

We, the undersigned sixteen international human rights organisations, bar associations, and law societies from across the globe, express our profound concern and unequivocally condemn the widespread obstruction, intimidation, and politically motivated exclusion of lawyers identified as supporters of the Awami League or as independent candidates from participating in bar association elections throughout Bangladesh since the formation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led Government under the leadership of Tarique Rahman on 17 February 2026.

OPEN CALL: An Open Call to All States to Stop Facilitating US Extrajudicial Killings
Paris, France; April 23, 2026: JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), along with other 125 organizations released an open call to all States to end support for US extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, and reminding States that continuing to provide support could expose them to legal responsibility.

JOINT STATEMENT: the new Anti-Racism Strategy lacks political courage – and the potential for change
Paris, 9 February 2026, 2025: We, six BIPOC youth-led organizations, want to express our disappointment in the recent Anti-Racism Strategy published on January 20th, 2026. The new strategy serves as a continuation of the Anti-Racism Action Plan (ARAP), a roadmap for fighting racism in the EU, which was developed following the killing of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020. The Action Plan was unprecedented in many ways: it recognized, for the first time, the concept of structural racism, appointed the first-ever Anti-Racism Coordinator, and pushed Member States to develop national action plans against racism.

France, Poland, Egypt, India, Srilanka, Kazakhstan, Indonesia | 09 January 2026: We, the undersigned human rights organizations, bar associations and individual legal experts, express our deep shock and grave concern over the brutal killing of Advocate Nayem Kibria (35), a pro–Awami League lawyer and practicing member of the Pabna District Judge Court, who was beaten to death by an organized mob in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhakaon the night of 31 December 2025.
