On May 13, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the auditorium of the French National Bar Council (Conseil National des barreaux) in Paris will host a conference dedicated to the commitment of lawyers in defending the rights of LGBT+ individuals. Jointly organized by Stop Homophobie and JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), this event will highlight the crucial role lawyers play, both in France and internationally, in combating discrimination and anti-LGBT+ violence.

JMBF Founder Shahanur Islam Addresses at Seminar on Asylum Process in France
Paris,France; November 19, 2023: In a compelling seminar organized by Solidarities Asie France (SAF) in Paris on November 18, 2023, Bangladeshi Human Rights Lawyer and Founder President of JusticeMakers Bangladesh, Advocate Shahanur Islam, took center stage to shed light on reasons compelling Bangladeshi citizens to leave their homeland for Europe, particularly France, and seek asylum. The event drew the participation of around 40 Bangladeshi asylum seekers at various stages of their application.
The seminar, aimed at providing valuable insights into the asylum procedures at different stages, featured notable speakers, including France Lawyer Mr. Akash Helal, Paris Youth Councillor Nayan NK, and Researcher Gaktane Lamarche Vadel.

Shahanur Islam, Honorary Executive Director of Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights and also a leading human rights lawyer, blogger and LGBT campaigner in Bangladesh attend the 7th Asia Pacific Consultation on refugee rights. The consultation has been held at Hotel Narai, Bangkok, Thailand from 22 to 25 October 2018, organised by Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network.

The symposium brought together 25 local partners, NGOs, journalists, and lawyers from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh active in the field of human rights, on the issues of human trafficking, Dalits, and religious and indigenous rights. |

NEWS: BRCT & BIHR PARTICIPATES THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON HUMAN RIGHTS REPORTING AND TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE ACTION AT MUMBAI, INDIA.
Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT) along with Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) participate the international seminar on human rights reporting and tools for effective action which was included interactive training session on human rights documentation, monitoring, media, lobbying, campaign & project management including HURIDOCs tool for human rights documentation, practical tools and mechanism to communicate human rights, using media as a tools to lobby human rights violation, writing a project proposal and financial reporting.
The seminar was held on April 29 to May 01, 2009, at Rambhu Mhalgi Provodhini Knowledge- Excellent Centre, Uttan, Bhayander (Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. I
