BANGLADESH ALERT: JMBF Deeply Concerned Over the Recent Brutal Killing of Three Bangladeshi Citizens by BSF on the Indo-Bangla Border

The France-based international human rights organization JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) expresses deep concern and condemnation over the recent killing of three Bangladeshi citizens along the Indo-Bangla border by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). On 29 November, one Bangladeshi citizen, Shahidul Islam, was shot dead by BSF personnel at the Jhenaidah Jibannagar border, and on 1 December, two Bangladeshi citizens, Ibrahim Rinku and Momin Mia, were brutally beaten to death by BSF personnel at Chapainawabganj’s Wahedpur border.

STATEMENT: JMBF Condemns Harassment and Violence against Chapainawabganj Hijra Community

[Paris, France: August 15, 2023] - JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), a human rights organization based in France, expresses deep anguish and concern over the lack of criminal action against the accused individuals responsible for the harassment, demands for housing allowance, and attacks faced by the Hijra community in Chapainawabganj. Despite enduring these issues for two months, no substantial action has been taken against the perpetrators.
