The meeting brought together key representatives of JMBF, including Mr. Robert Jan Paul Simon, Chief Adviser; Advocate Shahanur Islam, President; Advocate Mohammad Alamgir, Secretary General; Mr. Moynuddin Khan, Treasurer; and Ms. Jannatul Ferdaus, Member of the Executive Committee.
The dialogue focused on strengthening bilateral relations between France and Bangladesh, particularly in the areas of human rights, the rule of law, and social justice. Both sides exchanged views on ongoing challenges and explored opportunities for collaboration in promoting democratic values and supporting vulnerable communities.
Mr. Amirshahi emphasized the importance of continued engagement between civil society organizations and policymakers to foster meaningful and sustainable change.
Speaking on behalf of JMBF, Advocate Shahanur Islam highlighted the organization’s ongoing initiatives and expressed appreciation for the support and interest shown by the French-Bangladesh Friendship Group. He reiterated JMBF’s commitment to working collaboratively with French institutions and international partners.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation and maintain regular dialogue in the coming year.

La réunion a rassemblé des représentants clés de JMBF, notamment M. Robert Jan Paul Simon, Conseiller principal ; Maître Shahanur Islam, Président ; Maître Mohammad Alamgir, Secrétaire général ; M. Moynuddin Khan, Trésorier ; et Mme Jannatul Ferdaus, membre du Comité exécutif.
Le dialogue a porté sur le renforcement des relations bilatérales entre la France et le Bangladesh, en particulier dans les domaines des droits de l’homme, de l’État de droit et de la justice sociale. Les deux parties ont échangé leurs points de vue sur les défis actuels et exploré des opportunités de collaboration afin de promouvoir les valeurs démocratiques et de soutenir les communautés vulnérables.
M. Amirshahi a souligné l’importance d’un engagement continu entre les organisations de la société civile et les décideurs politiques afin de favoriser un changement significatif et durable.
S’exprimant au nom de JMBF, Maître Shahanur Islam a mis en avant les initiatives en cours de l’organisation et a exprimé sa reconnaissance pour le soutien et l’intérêt manifestés par le Groupe d’amitié France-Bangladesh. Il a réaffirmé l’engagement de JMBF à collaborer étroitement avec les institutions françaises et les partenaires internationaux.
La réunion s’est conclue par un engagement commun à renforcer la coopération et à maintenir un dialogue régulier au cours de l’année à venir.
