At the same time, JMBF firmly calls for ensuring an environment in which lawyers of all beliefs can exercise their democratic rights, and for exemplary action against those responsible through international-standard investigations into each incident under the direct supervision of the United Nations Human Rights Council, on the grounds that these incidents constitute clear violations of the Constitution of Bangladesh and the fundamental human rights proclaimed by the United Nations.
According to reports published in various national newspapers and information received from JMBF’s own reliable sources, the nomination papers of 11 pro-Awami League lawyers contesting the upcoming Munshiganj District Bar Association election were cancelled on the night of Thursday, 16 April, under the label of being “collaborators of fascists.”
In the election of the Executive Committee of the Mymensingh District Bar Association for the 2026–27 term, the nomination papers of 16 candidates were cancelled after they were identified as “collaborators of fascists.”
On 15 April, the nomination papers of 16 pro-Awami League lawyer candidates contesting the upcoming Mymensingh Bar Association election were officially cancelled under the label of being “collaborators of fascists.”
On 8 April, on the eve of the Thakurgaon District Bar Association election, police reportedly went to the home of a pro-Awami League candidate for president late at night and pressured his wife to force him to withdraw his candidacy.
On 9 April, the Panchagarh Bar Association election was held without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers any opportunity to participate, after branding them as associates of the previous government.
On 5 March, the Jhalakathi District Bar Association election was held without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers any opportunity to participate.
On 28 February, the Khulna District Bar Association election was held without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to contest, after branding them as “collaborators of the fascist government.”
On 16 February, the Narail District Bar Association election was held without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers any opportunity to participate.
On 16 February, the Sunamganj District Bar Association election was also held without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers any opportunity to participate.
JMBF firmly believes that by using politically sensitive and vague labels such as “collaborators of fascists” or “affiliated with prohibited organizations,” the nomination papers of many candidates have been cancelled en masse. In some places, lawyers were excluded from the elections altogether, while in others they were directly denied the opportunity to participate. The allegation of intimidation of a candidate’s family through police presence in the Thakurgaon incident makes the gravity of the situation even more alarming.
JMBF strongly believes that these incidents are not isolated irregularities; rather, they are part of a systematic and deliberate process of political exclusion, through which a section of the legal community is being deliberately expelled from professional and democratic processes. As a result, the fundamental character of bar associations as independent professional bodies is being undermined, creating a serious risk of eroding public confidence in the justice system.
JMBF further believes that the incidents described above are in direct contradiction to the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Bangladesh. The guarantee of equality before the law under Article 27 of the Constitution has been violated through the cancellation of candidacies on the basis of political identity. Likewise, the right to protection of law under Article 31, the freedoms of assembly and association under Articles 37 and 38, freedom of expression under Article 39, and the freedom of profession or occupation under Article 40 have each been directly curtailed by these events. Subjecting individuals to punitive measures on the basis of their political ideology or alleged past affiliations without following due legal process is incompatible with the fundamental principles of constitutional governance.
Moreover, in light of the laws in force in the country and the fundamental principles of justice, such actions are entirely unacceptable. A bar association, as a self-governing professional body, is supposed to be run on the basis of neutrality, transparency, and equal rights. In reality, however, candidates are being declared ineligible without proper hearings, impartial investigation, or the opportunity to defend themselves, which constitutes a clear violation of the principles of natural justice and due process. At the same time, direct or indirect interference by the administration and law enforcement agencies amounts to an abuse of power and gravely undermines the concept of the rule of law.
Furthermore, these incidents are deeply alarming in light of international human rights law and standards. The principles of equality, non-discrimination, freedom of association, and participation in public life enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have been clearly violated here. Similarly, the rights to freedom of expression, freedom of association, and participation in electoral processes guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights have also been disregarded. Under the United Nations Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers, lawyers must be guaranteed the ability to participate in professional and organizational activities free from intimidation, hindrance, harassment, or improper interference. These incidents represent a serious breach of those international obligations.
In this context, JMBF observes with deep concern that politically sensitive and vague terminology is being used to impose repressive measures against lawyers, that election authorities are losing their neutrality, and that in many cases unopposed elections are being arranged in a way that turns the democratic process into a mere farce. If these trends continue, the independence of the legal profession and the impartiality of the justice system will face grave risks.
JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) emphatically states that such unjust, discriminatory, and rule-of-law-defying actions are wholly unacceptable. These decisions must be immediately revoked, the rights of the affected lawyers must be restored, and those responsible must be held accountable through an independent, impartial, and judicial investigation. At the same time, effective legal and institutional measures are essential to ensure that future bar association elections remain free from political influence.
JMBF firmly believes that this continuing pattern of repressive measures against the legal community is not merely a deprivation of the rights of one professional group; rather, it constitutes a profound and dangerous assault on the independence of the judiciary, the rule of law, and the democratic framework of Bangladesh.
Demands of JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF):
- Ensure an impartial and judicial investigation into all incidents of electoral irregularities, obstruction, and violence related to the concerned bar associations.
- Ensure the cancellation of elections that were not participatory and the holding of fresh, free, fair, and inclusive elections.
- Ensure the constitutional right of lawyers to submit nomination papers and participate in elections.
- Ensure equal opportunity and security for all parties involved in the electoral process.
- Ensure the restoration of the democratic structure of professional organizations in accordance with international standards.
JMBF strongly urges the United Nations, international human rights organizations, bar councils, and global institutions working for the rule of law to pay attention to this situation in Bangladesh’s bar associations and to take the necessary measures.

Incident No. 01: Cancellation of candidacy of 11 pro-Awami League lawyers in Munshiganj Bar Association election
The candidacies of 11 pro-Awami League lawyers have been cancelled in the Munshiganj District Bar Association election. The matter was announced in an emergency notice issued by the election commission of the Munshiganj District Bar Association on the night of Thursday, April 16.
Those whose candidacies were cancelled are— Mohammad Ali for President; Md. Firoz Khan and Lavlu Molla for Vice President; Mahbubur Rahman Sabuj and Abdul Halim Sardar for General Secretary; Md. Nayan Mia for Joint Secretary; Md. Mostafa for Treasurer; Prince Faisal Ahmed for Office Secretary; Mousumi Akter for Women Affairs Secretary; Abu Hanif Hiru Molla for Sports and Cultural Secretary; and Md. Shah Ali Dewan Nishan for Executive Member.
This time, no panel was announced under the banner of the Awami League in the Bar Association election. However, lawyers who had previously contested under the Awami League panel participated in the election as general candidates.
The notice stated: “On April 5, nomination papers of candidates for the executive committee election of the Munshiganj District Bar Association were scrutinized. Subsequently, on April 8, the National Parliament unanimously passed a law banning all political activities of the Awami League and its affiliated, associate, and fraternal organizations. Bringing the matter to the attention of the election commission, around 75 lawyers of the Munshiganj Bar and also families of those killed and injured in the July movement submitted applications on April 13 and Thursday. After reviewing the applications, as well as the gazette of the interim government period and the laws enacted by the current parliament, it was confirmed that all activities of the Awami League and its affiliated bodies have been banned. The election commission found that the candidates were involved with the banned Awami League politics. Therefore, based on the amended laws of the country, 11 candidates have been declared ineligible and their candidacies for the 2026–27 executive committee election of the Munshiganj District Bar Association have been cancelled.”
Incident No. 02: Cancellation of nomination of 16 candidates in Mymensingh Bar Association election labeling them as collaborators of fascists
In the 2026–27 executive committee election of the Mymensingh District Bar Association, the nomination papers of 16 candidates have been cancelled after identifying them as collaborators of fascists.
In a notice signed by Abdul Bari, Convener of the association and Returning Officer of the election, it was stated that all candidates submitted their nomination papers on April 13. After scrutiny on April 15, the nomination papers of candidates identified as members of banned organizations or collaborators of fascists were declared cancelled.
The candidates whose nominations were cancelled are— Badr Uddin Ahmed for President; Didarul Islam, A.K.M. Kamal Hossain Khan, and Mizanur Rahman Talukdar for Vice President; Emdadul Haque for General Secretary; Saiful Islam, Kamrul Islam, and Shahbia Haque (Kaniz) for Assistant Secretary; Ishtiaq Ahmed (Imon) for Auditor; and A.K.M. Munmun Ahmed (Selim), Rafiqul Islam Fakir, Sabiha Sultana (Jerin), M. Kamrul Hasan Sarkar, Fuad Hasan (Newton), Abdullah Al Nayeem, and Tania Akter (Reshmi) for Member.
Earlier, the election schedule was announced on April 12. According to the schedule, nomination submission was on April 13, scrutiny on April 15, and the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy was April 16.
The schedule also clearly stated that no member of a banned organization or collaborator of fascists would be allowed to participate in the election.
Incident No. 03: Police pressure on a pro-Awami League presidential candidate to withdraw candidacy the night before voting in Thakurgaon Bar Association election
Allegations have been made that police went to the house of presidential candidate Mostak Alam (Tulu) on the night of April 8, the day before voting, and pressured his wife to withdraw from the election process.
Lawyer Mostak Alam is the Joint General Secretary of the banned Awami League district unit. He, along with seven others from the party, contested as independent candidates in the Thakurgaon District Bar Association election.
On March 24, the annual general meeting decided to hold the election. The schedule was announced on March 25. On March 30, the last day for submitting nominations, 32 candidates submitted nomination papers for 12 posts. Besides candidates from the Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum and Jamaat-backed candidates, seven from the Awami League, including Mostak Alam, contested as independents.
On Wednesday night, April 8, a team of police led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Monir Hossain of Sadar Police Station went to his house. Although he was not at home, his wife and son were present. He alleged, “Police were sent to my house to pressure independent candidates to withdraw from the election.”
Incident No. 04: Panchagarh Bar Association election held without allowing participation of pro-Awami League lawyers
Labeling them as collaborators of the previous government, the Panchagarh Bar Association election was held on April 9 without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to participate.
Voting took place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Bar Association building. After counting the votes, the Chief Election Commissioner, Advocate Khalilur Rahman, announced at night that BNP-aligned lawyers had won 9 out of 11 posts, including President and General Secretary.
Incident No. 05: Jhalokathi Bar Association election held without allowing participation of pro-Awami League lawyers
The Jhalokathi District Bar Association election was held on March 5 without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to participate.
Voting was conducted from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, and results were announced in the afternoon. Candidates supported by the government-backed Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum won seven posts, including General Secretary. Meanwhile, the panel led by District BNP Member Secretary Shahadat Hossain won four posts. Although Jamaat-backed candidates contested two posts, none were elected.
Incident No. 06: Khulna Bar Association election held without allowing participation of pro-Awami League lawyers
Labeling them as collaborators of a fascist government, the Khulna District Bar Association election was held on February 28 without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to participate.
In the election, the panel nominated by the government-backed Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum achieved a landslide victory. A total of 14 posts were contested by the Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum, Bangladesh Lawyers’ Council, Lawyers Committed to Integrity, and the Combined Panel.
Incident No. 07: Narail Bar Association election held without allowing participation of pro-Awami League lawyers
The Narail District Bar Association election was held on February 16 without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to participate.
Voting took place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and results were announced Monday evening. Candidates from the government-backed Nationalist Lawyers’ Forum were elected as President and General Secretary. Additionally, candidates for Librarian, Law and Social Welfare Secretary, and five Executive Member posts were elected unopposed.
Incident No. 08: Sunamganj Bar Association election held without allowing participation of pro-Awami League lawyers
The Sunamganj District Bar Association election was held on February 16 without allowing pro-Awami League lawyers to participate.
The election took place at the Bar Association building on Monday. Results were announced at 9:00 PM after vote counting. Out of 16 posts, voting was held for four positions, while the rest were elected unopposed. Those elected unopposed include Senior Vice President, Treasurer, Library Secretary, Social Welfare and Sports Secretary, Literary and Cultural Secretary, Women Affairs Secretary, and five Executive Members.

১৫ এপ্রিল “ফ্যাসিস্টের সহযোগী” আখ্যা দিয়ে ময়মনসিংহ আইনজীবী সমিতির আসন্ন নির্বাচনে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতাকারী বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী ১৬ জন আইনজীবী প্রার্থীর মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।
৮ এপ্রিল ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে ভোটের আগের দিন গভীর রাতে বাড়িতে গিয়ে সভাপতি প্রার্থী আওয়ামীপন্থী আইনজীবীকে প্রার্থিতা প্রত্যাহারের জন্য পুলিশ তাঁর স্ত্রীকে চাপ প্রদান করে।
বিগত সরকারের দোসর আখ্যা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই গত ৯ এপ্রিল পঞ্চগড় আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ৫ মার্চ ঝালকাঠি জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
“ফ্যাসিস্ট সরকারের দোসর” আখ্যা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ না দিয়েই গত ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি খুলনা জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ১৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি নড়াইল জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ১৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি সুনামগঞ্জ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
জেএমবিএফ দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করে, “ফ্যাসিস্টের সহযোগী” বা “নিষিদ্ধ সংগঠনের সঙ্গে সম্পৃক্ত” এর মতো রাজনৈতিকভাবে সংবেদনশীল ও অস্পষ্ট আখ্যা ব্যবহার করে একযোগে বহু প্রার্থীর প্রার্থিতা বাতিল করা হয়েছে। কোথাও আইনজীবীদের নির্বাচন থেকে বাদ দেওয়া হয়েছে, আবার কোথাও সরাসরি তাদের নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগই প্রদান করা হয়নি। এমনকি ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ের ঘটনায় পুলিশি উপস্থিতির মাধ্যমে প্রার্থীর পরিবারকে ভয়ভীতি প্রদর্শনের অভিযোগ পরিস্থিতির গুরুতরতা আরও বাড়িয়ে তুলেছে।
জেএমবিএফ দৃঢ়ভাবে মনে করে, এই ঘটনাগুলো কোনো বিচ্ছিন্ন অনিয়ম নয়; বরং এটি একটি সুসংগঠিত ও উদ্দেশ্যমূলক রাজনৈতিক বর্জন প্রক্রিয়ার অংশ, যার মাধ্যমে আইনজীবী সমাজের একটি অংশকে পরিকল্পিতভাবে পেশাগত ও গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়া থেকে বহিষ্কার করা হচ্ছে। এর ফলে আইনজীবী সমিতির মতো একটি স্বাধীন পেশাজীবী সংগঠনের মৌলিক চরিত্র ক্ষুণ্ন হচ্ছে এবং বিচারব্যবস্থার ওপর জনগণের আস্থা মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হওয়ার আশঙ্কা তৈরি হচ্ছে।
জেএমবিএফ দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করে, উল্লেখিত ঘটনাসমূহ বাংলাদেশের সংবিধানে স্বীকৃত মৌলিক অধিকারের সুস্পষ্ট পরিপন্থী। সংবিধানের ২৭ অনুচ্ছেদে সকল নাগরিকের আইনের দৃষ্টিতে সমতার যে নিশ্চয়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে, তা রাজনৈতিক পরিচয়ের ভিত্তিতে প্রার্থিতা বাতিলের মাধ্যমে লঙ্ঘিত হয়েছে। একইভাবে ৩১ অনুচ্ছেদে আইনের আশ্রয় লাভের অধিকার, ৩৭ ও ৩৮ অনুচ্ছেদে সমাবেশ ও সংগঠনের স্বাধীনতা, ৩৯ অনুচ্ছেদে মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা এবং ৪০ অনুচ্ছেদে পেশা পরিচালনার স্বাধীনতা—এসব মৌলিক অধিকারের প্রতিটিই এসব ঘটনায় প্রত্যক্ষভাবে খর্ব হয়েছে। কোনো ব্যক্তিকে তার রাজনৈতিক মতাদর্শ বা অতীত সংশ্লিষ্টতার অভিযোগে যথাযথ আইনি প্রক্রিয়া অনুসরণ ব্যতীত শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থার আওতায় আনা সংবিধানিক শাসনব্যবস্থার মৌলিক নীতির সঙ্গে সাংঘর্ষিক।
এছাড়া দেশের প্রচলিত আইন এবং ন্যায়বিচারের মৌলিক নীতিমালার আলোকে এই ধরনের কর্মকাণ্ড সম্পূর্ণরূপে অগ্রহণযোগ্য। আইনজীবী সমিতি একটি স্বশাসিত পেশাজীবী সংগঠন হিসেবে নিরপেক্ষতা, স্বচ্ছতা এবং সমঅধিকারের ভিত্তিতে পরিচালিত হওয়ার কথা। কিন্তু বাস্তবে দেখা যাচ্ছে, যথাযথ শুনানি, নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত কিংবা আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থনের সুযোগ না দিয়েই প্রার্থীদের অযোগ্য ঘোষণা করা হচ্ছে, যা প্রাকৃতিক ন্যায়বিচারের নীতি এবং due process-এর সুস্পষ্ট লঙ্ঘন। একই সঙ্গে প্রশাসন ও আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সরাসরি বা পরোক্ষ হস্তক্ষেপ ক্ষমতার অপব্যবহারের শামিল এবং এটি আইনের শাসনের ধারণাকে মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষুণ্ন করে।
তাছাড়া, আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার আইন ও মানদণ্ডের আলোতেও এসব ঘটনা গভীরভাবে উদ্বেগজনক। সর্বজনীন মানবাধিকার ঘোষণাপত্রে বর্ণিত সমতা, বৈষম্যহীনতা, সংগঠনের স্বাধীনতা এবং জনজীবনে অংশগ্রহণের অধিকার এখানে সুস্পষ্টভাবে লঙ্ঘিত হয়েছে। একইভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক নাগরিক ও রাজনৈতিক অধিকার সনদে নিশ্চিতকৃত মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা, সংগঠন করার অধিকার এবং নির্বাচনী প্রক্রিয়ায় অংশগ্রহণের অধিকারও এখানে উপেক্ষিত হয়েছে। জাতিসংঘের “Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers” অনুযায়ী আইনজীবীদের পেশাগত ও সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রমে কোনো ধরনের ভয়ভীতি, বাধা বা হস্তক্ষেপ ছাড়া অংশগ্রহণের নিশ্চয়তা দেওয়ার যে আন্তর্জাতিক বাধ্যবাধকতা রয়েছে, তা এই ঘটনাগুলোর মাধ্যমে চরমভাবে ভঙ্গ করা হয়েছে।
এই প্রেক্ষাপটে জেএমবিএফ গভীর উদ্বেগের সঙ্গে লক্ষ্য করছে যে, রাজনৈতিকভাবে সংবেদনশীল ও অস্পষ্ট শব্দ প্রয়োগের মাধ্যমে আইনজীবীদের বিরুদ্ধে দমনমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হচ্ছে, নির্বাচন পরিচালনাকারী কর্তৃপক্ষসমূহ তাদের নিরপেক্ষতা হারাচ্ছে এবং বহু ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতাহীন নির্বাচন আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়াকে প্রহসনে পরিণত করা হচ্ছে। এসব প্রবণতা অব্যাহত থাকলে আইনজীবী সমাজের স্বাধীনতা এবং বিচারব্যবস্থার নিরপেক্ষতা মারাত্মক ঝুঁকির মুখে পড়বে।
জাস্টিসমেকার্স বাংলাদেশ ইন ফ্রান্স (জেএমবিএফ) জোর দিয়ে বলছে যে, এই ধরনের অন্যায়, বৈষম্যমূলক এবং আইনের শাসনবিরোধী কর্মকাণ্ড কোনোভাবেই গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়। অবিলম্বে এসব সিদ্ধান্ত বাতিল করে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত আইনজীবীদের অধিকার পুনর্বহাল করতে হবে এবং একটি স্বাধীন, নিরপেক্ষ ও বিচারিক তদন্তের মাধ্যমে দায়ীদের জবাবদিহিতার আওতায় আনতে হবে। পাশাপাশি ভবিষ্যতে আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনসমূহকে রাজনৈতিক প্রভাবমুক্ত রাখার জন্য কার্যকর আইনি ও প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ অপরিহার্য।
জেএমবিএফ দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করে, আইনজীবী সমাজের ওপর এই ধারাবাহিক দমনমূলক পদক্ষেপ কেবল একটি পেশাজীবী গোষ্ঠীর অধিকার হরণ নয়; এটি বাংলাদেশের বিচারব্যবস্থার স্বাধীনতা, আইনের শাসন এবং গণতান্ত্রিক কাঠামোর ওপর একটি গভীর ও বিপজ্জনক আঘাত।
জাস্টিসমেকার্স বাংলাদেশ ইন ফ্রান্স (জেএমবিএফ)-এর দাবিসমূহঃ
১. সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনী অনিয়ম, বাধা ও সহিংসতার ঘটনার নিরপেক্ষ ও বিচারিক তদন্ত নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।২. যেসব নির্বাচন অংশগ্রহণমূলক ছিল না, সেগুলো বাতিল করে অবাধ, সুষ্ঠু ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক নির্বাচন পুনরায় আয়োজন করতে হবে।৩. আইনজীবীদের মনোনয়নপত্র দাখিল ও নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণের সাংবিধানিক অধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।৪. নির্বাচন প্রক্রিয়ায় জড়িত সকল পক্ষের জন্য সমান সুযোগ ও নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।৫. আন্তর্জাতিক মানদণ্ড অনুযায়ী পেশাজীবী সংগঠনগুলোর গণতান্ত্রিক কাঠামো পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠা করতে হবে।
জেএমবিএফ জাতিসংঘ, আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার সংস্থা, বার কাউন্সিলসমূহ এবং আইনের শাসন প্রতিষ্ঠায় কাজ করা বৈশ্বিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর প্রতি বাংলাদেশের আইনজীবী সমিতিগুলোর এই পরিস্থিতির প্রতি দৃষ্টি দেওয়ার জন্য এবং প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণের জন্য দৃঢ় আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে।
জেএমবিএফ ন্যায়, মানবাধিকার এবং আইনের শাসনের পক্ষে সবসময় অটল থাকবে।

ঘটনা নং ০১: মুন্সিগঞ্জ আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে ১১ জন আওয়ামীপন্থী আইনজীবীর প্রার্থিতা বাতিল
মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী ১১ জনের প্রার্থিতা বাতিল করা হয়েছে। ১৬ এপ্রিল বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন কমিশনের জরুরি বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে প্রার্থিতা বাতিলের বিষয়টি জানানো হয়।
যাঁদের প্রার্থিতা বাতিল হয়েছে, তাঁরা হলেন— সভাপতি পদে মোহাম্মদ আলী; সহসভাপতি পদে মো. ফিরোজ খান ও লাভলু মোল্লা; সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে মাহবুবুর রহমান সবুজ ও আবদুল হালিম সরদার; সহসাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে মো. নয়ন মিয়া; কোষাধ্যক্ষ পদে মো. মোস্তফা; দপ্তর সম্পাদক পদে প্রিন্স ফয়সাল আহমেদ; মহিলাবিষয়ক সম্পাদক পদে মৌসুমী আক্তার; ক্রীড়া ও সাংস্কৃতিক সম্পাদক পদে আবু হানিফ হিরু মোল্লা; কার্যকরী সদস্য পদে মো. শাহ আলী দেওয়ান নিশান।
এবার আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগের ব্যানারে কোনো প্যানেল ঘোষণা করা হয়নি। তবে বিভিন্ন সময় আওয়ামী লীগের প্যানেলের হয়ে নির্বাচন করা আইনজীবীরা সাধারণ আইনজীবীর ব্যানারে নির্বাচনে প্রার্থী হয়েছিলেন।
প্রার্থিতা বাতিলের ওই বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, ‘৫ এপ্রিল মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির কার্যকরী পরিষদের নির্বাচনে প্রার্থীদের মনোনয়নপত্র বাছাই করা হয়। পরে ৮ এপ্রিল জাতীয় সংসদে সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে আওয়ামী লীগ, তার অঙ্গসংগঠন, সহযোগী সংগঠন ও ভ্রাতৃপ্রতিম সংগঠনের সব ধরনের রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ড নিষিদ্ধ করে আইন পাস করা হয়। বিষয়টি নির্বাচন কমিশনের দৃষ্টিগোচর করে ১৩ এপ্রিল মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা বারের প্রায় ৭৫ জন আইনজীবী এবং বৃহস্পতিবার নিহত ও আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের পরিবার থেকেও একটি আবেদন দেওয়া হয়। দরখাস্ত পর্যালোচনা করে এবং অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের সময়ের গেজেট, বর্তমান সংসদে প্রণীত আইন পর্যালোচনা করে আওয়ামী লীগ এবং এর অঙ্গসংগঠন, সহযোগী সংগঠন ও ভ্রাতৃপ্রতিম সংগঠনের সব ধরনের কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়। নির্বাচন কমিশন ওই প্রার্থীদের নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত আওয়ামী রাজনীতির সঙ্গে জড়িত বলে প্রমাণ পায়। যার কারণে দেশের সংশোধিত সব আইনের ওপর ভিত্তি করে ১১ জন প্রার্থীকে মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির কার্যকরী পরিষদের নির্বাচন ২০২৬-২৭–এ অযোগ্য ঘোষণা করে প্রার্থিতা বাতিল করা হল।’
ঘটনা নং ০২: ফ্যাসিস্টের সহযোগী আখ্যা দিয়ে ময়মনসিংহ আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে ১৬ প্রার্থীর মনোনয়ন বাতিল
ময়মনসিংহ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির ২০২৬–২৭ সালের নির্বাচনে ফ্যাসিস্টদের সহযোগী হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করে ১৬ জন প্রার্থীর মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে।
সমিতির আহ্বায়ক ও নির্বাচনের রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তা আব্দুল বারি স্বাক্ষরিত এক নোটিশে জানানো হয়, ১৩ এপ্রিল সব প্রার্থী মনোনয়নপত্র দাখিল করেন। পরে ১৫ এপ্রিল যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে নিষিদ্ধ সংগঠন বা ফ্যাসিস্টদের সহযোগী হিসেবে চিহ্নিত প্রার্থীদের মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল ঘোষণা করা হয়।
বাতিল হওয়া প্রার্থীরা হলেন— সভাপতি পদে বদর উদ্দিন আহমেদ; সহসভাপতি পদে দিদারুল ইসলাম, এ কে এম কামাল হোসেন খান ও মিজানুর রহমান তালুকদার; সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে এমদাদুল হক; সহসম্পাদক পদে সাইফুল ইসলাম, কামরুল ইসলাম ও ছাহবিয়া হক (কানিজ); অডিটর পদে ইসতিয়াক আহমেদ (ইমন); এবং সদস্য পদে এ কে এম মুনমুন আহমেদ (সেলিম), রফিকুল ইসলাম ফকির, সাবিহা সুলতানা (জেরিন), এম কামরুল হাসান সরকার, ফুয়াদ হাসান (নিউটন), আব্দুল্লাহ আল নাঈম ও তানিয়া আক্তার (রেশমী)।
এর আগে, ১২ এপ্রিল নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হয়। তফসিল অনুযায়ী ১৩ এপ্রিল মনোনয়ন দাখিল, ১৫ এপ্রিল যাচাই-বাছাই এবং ১৬ এপ্রিল প্রার্থিতা প্রত্যাহারের দিন নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে।

ঘটনা নং ০৩: ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে ভোটের আগের রাতে সভাপতি প্রার্থী আওয়ামীপন্থী আইনজীবীকে প্রার্থিতা প্রত্যাহারের চাপ পুলিশের
ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে সভাপতি প্রার্থী মোস্তাক আলমের (টুলু) বাড়িতে ভোটের আগের দিন ৮ এপ্রিল গভীর রাতে পুলিশ গিয়ে নির্বাচনী কার্যক্রম থেকে সরে যেতে তাঁর স্ত্রীকে চাপ প্রদানের অভিযোগ উঠেছে।
আইনজীবী মোস্তাক আলম কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধ আওয়ামী লীগের জেলা শাখার যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক। ঠাকুরগাঁও জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে তিনিসহ দলটির সাতজন স্বতন্ত্র হিসেবে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করেছিলেন।
গত ২৪ মার্চ সমিতির বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভায় নির্বাচনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। ২৫ মার্চ তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হয়। ৩০ মার্চ মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দেওয়ার শেষ দিনে ১২টি পদের বিপরীতে ৩২ জন প্রার্থী মনোনয়ন দাখিল করেন। এতে জাতীয়তাবাদী আইনজীবী ফোরাম ও জামায়াত-সমর্থিত প্রার্থীরা ছাড়াও আওয়ামী লীগের মোস্তাক আলমসহ দলটির সাতজন স্বতন্ত্র হিসেবে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করেন।
৮ তারিখ বুধবার গভীর রাতে সদর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোহাম্মদ মনির হোসেনের নেতৃত্বে একদল পুলিশ তাঁর বাড়িতে যান। তখন তিনি বাড়িতে না থাকলেও তাঁর স্ত্রী ও ছেলে বাসায় ছিলেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীদের নির্বাচন থেকে সরে যেতে চাপ দিতেই আমার বাড়িতে পুলিশ পাঠানো হয়।’
ঘটনা নং ০৪ঃ পঞ্চগড় আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে আওয়ামীপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত
বিগত সরকারের দোসর আখ্যা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই গত ০৯ এপ্রিল পঞ্চগড় আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বৃহস্পতিবার জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির ভবনে সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকেল চারটা পর্যন্ত ভোট গ্রহণ চলে। ভোট গণনার পর রাতে দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার আইনজীবী খলিলুর রহমান ১১টি পদের মধ্যে সভাপতি ও সাধারণ সম্পাদকসহ ৯টি পদে বিএনপিপন্থী আইনজীবীদের বিজয়ী হিসেবে ফলাফল ঘোষণা করেন।
ঘটনা নং ০৫: আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ঝালকাঠি জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত
বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ০৫ মার্চ ঝালকাঠি জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১০টা থেকে বেলা ২টা পর্যন্ত ভোট গ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। পরে বিকেলে ফলাফল ঘোষণা করা হয়। নির্বাচনে সাধারণ সম্পাদকসহ মোট সাতটি পদে বর্তমান বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন সরকারসমর্থিত জাতীয়তাবাদী আইনজীবী ফোরাম সমর্থিত প্রার্থীরা জয় পেয়েছেন। অপর দিকে জেলা বিএনপির সদস্যসচিব শাহাদাৎ হোসেনের প্যানেল চারটি পদে জয়লাভ করে। জামায়াত সমর্থিত দুটি পদে প্রার্থী থাকলেও তাঁরা কেউ নির্বাচিত হননি।

ফ্যাসিস্ট সরকারের দোসর আখ্যা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ না দিয়েই গত ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি খুলনা জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। নির্বাচনে বর্তমান সরকারপন্থী জাতীয়তাবাদী আইনজীবী ফোরাম মনোনীত প্যানেল নিরঙ্কুশ জয় পায়। মোট ১৪টি পদে জাতীয়তাবাদী আইনজীবী ফোরাম, বাংলাদেশ লইয়ার্স কাউন্সিল, সততায় অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ আইনজীবী ও সম্মিলিত পরিষদ অংশগ্রহণ করে।

বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী আইনজীবীদের অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ প্রদান না করেই ১৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি নড়াইল জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সকাল ৯টা থেকে বেলা ৩টা পর্যন্ত ভোটগ্রহণ শেষে সোমবার সন্ধ্যায় নির্বাচনের ফলাফল ঘোষণা করা হয়। বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন সরকারসমর্থিত জাতীয়তাবাদী আইনজীবী ফোরাম থেকে সভাপতি ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক নির্বাচিত হন। এ ছাড়া বিনা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় গ্রন্থাগার সম্পাদক, আইন ও সমাজকল্যাণবিষয়ক সম্পাদক এবং নির্বাহী সদস্যের পাঁচটি পদে প্রার্থীরা নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন।

Paris, France | 17 avril 2026 : JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) exprime sa profonde inquiétude, sa ferme condamnation et son indignation face au récent schéma d’irrégularités, de traitements discriminatoires à l’encontre des professionnels du droit, d’annulation de candidatures d’avocats pro-Ligue Awami uniquement sur la base de leur idéologie politique, d’entraves à leur participation aux élections, ainsi que d’ingérences policières dans les élections de plusieurs barreaux de district au Bangladesh, notamment à Munshiganj, Mymensingh, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Jhalakathi, Khulna, Narail et Sunamganj, sous le gouvernement nouvellement formé dirigé par le Parti nationaliste du Bangladesh (BNP).
Dans le même temps, le JMBF appelle fermement à garantir un environnement permettant aux avocats de toutes convictions d’exercer leurs droits démocratiques, et à prendre des mesures exemplaires contre les responsables par le biais d’enquêtes conformes aux normes internationales sur chaque incident, sous la supervision directe du Conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations Unies, au motif que ces faits constituent des violations manifestes de la Constitution du Bangladesh et des droits humains fondamentaux proclamés par les Nations Unies.
Selon des informations publiées dans divers journaux nationaux et des données recueillies par les sources fiables du JMBF, les dossiers de candidature de 11 avocats pro-Ligue Awami, candidats à la prochaine élection du barreau de Munshiganj, ont été annulés dans la nuit du jeudi 16 avril, sous l’étiquette de « collaborateurs des fascistes ».
Lors de l’élection du comité exécutif du barreau de Mymensingh pour le mandat 2026–2027, les dossiers de candidature de 16 candidats ont été annulés après avoir été qualifiés de « collaborateurs des fascistes ».
Le 15 avril, les dossiers de candidature de 16 avocats pro-Ligue Awami candidats à l’élection à venir du barreau de Mymensingh ont été officiellement annulés sous l’étiquette de « collaborateurs des fascistes ».
Le 8 avril, à la veille de l’élection du barreau de Thakurgaon, la police se serait rendue tard dans la nuit au domicile d’un candidat pro-Ligue Awami à la présidence et aurait exercé des pressions sur son épouse pour qu’il retire sa candidature.
Le 9 avril, l’élection du barreau de Panchagarh s’est tenue sans permettre aux avocats pro-Ligue Awami d’y participer, après les avoir qualifiés de partisans de l’ancien gouvernement.
Le 5 mars, l’élection du barreau de Jhalakathi s’est tenue sans permettre aux avocats pro-Ligue Awami d’y participer.
Le 28 février, l’élection du barreau de Khulna s’est tenue sans permettre aux avocats pro-Ligue Awami de se présenter, après les avoir qualifiés de « collaborateurs du gouvernement fasciste ».
Le 16 février, l’élection du barreau de Narail s’est tenue sans permettre aux avocats pro-Ligue Awami d’y participer.
Le 16 février, l’élection du barreau de Sunamganj s’est également tenue sans permettre aux avocats pro-Ligue Awami d’y participer.
Le JMBF estime fermement qu’en utilisant des termes politiquement sensibles et vagues tels que « collaborateurs des fascistes » ou « affiliés à des organisations interdites », les dossiers de candidature de nombreux candidats ont été annulés en masse. Dans certains cas, des avocats ont été totalement exclus du processus électoral, tandis que dans d’autres, ils ont été directement privés de la possibilité de participer. L’allégation d’intimidation de la famille d’un candidat par la présence policière dans l’incident de Thakurgaon rend la situation encore plus préoccupante.
Le JMBF est convaincu que ces événements ne constituent pas des irrégularités isolées, mais font partie d’un processus systématique et délibéré d’exclusion politique, visant à écarter une partie de la communauté juridique des processus professionnels et démocratiques. Cela compromet le caractère fondamental des barreaux en tant qu’organisations professionnelles indépendantes et risque de miner gravement la confiance du public dans le système judiciaire.
Le JMBF estime également que les faits susmentionnés sont en contradiction directe avec les droits fondamentaux garantis par la Constitution du Bangladesh. Le principe d’égalité devant la loi, consacré par l’article 27, a été violé par l’annulation de candidatures sur la base de l’identité politique. De même, le droit à la protection de la loi (article 31), les libertés de réunion et d’association (articles 37 et 38), la liberté d’expression (article 39) et la liberté de profession (article 40) ont été directement restreints par ces événements. Soumettre des individus à des mesures punitives en raison de leur idéologie politique ou de prétendues affiliations passées sans respecter les procédures légales constitue une violation des principes fondamentaux de l’ordre constitutionnel.
En outre, à la lumière du droit interne et des principes fondamentaux de justice, de telles actions sont totalement inacceptables. Un barreau, en tant qu’organisation professionnelle autonome, doit fonctionner sur la base de la neutralité, de la transparence et de l’égalité des droits. Or, en réalité, des candidats sont déclarés inéligibles sans audition appropriée, sans enquête impartiale ni possibilité de se défendre, ce qui constitue une violation manifeste des principes de justice naturelle et du droit à une procédure régulière (due process). Par ailleurs, les ingérences directes ou indirectes de l’administration et des forces de l’ordre constituent un abus de pouvoir et portent gravement atteinte à l’État de droit.
De plus, ces événements sont profondément préoccupants au regard du droit international des droits de l’homme. Les principes d’égalité, de non-discrimination, de liberté d’association et de participation à la vie publique consacrés par la Déclaration universelle des droits de l’homme ont été clairement violés. De même, les droits garantis par le Pacte international relatif aux droits civils et politiques, notamment la liberté d’expression, la liberté d’association et le droit de participer aux processus électoraux, ont été ignorés. Selon les Principes de base des Nations Unies relatifs au rôle du barreau, les avocats doivent pouvoir exercer leurs activités professionnelles et organisationnelles sans intimidation, entrave ni ingérence. Ces événements constituent une violation grave de ces obligations internationales.
Dans ce contexte, le JMBF observe avec une profonde inquiétude que des termes politiquement sensibles et vagues sont utilisés pour imposer des mesures répressives contre les avocats, que les autorités électorales perdent leur neutralité et que, dans de nombreux cas, des élections sans opposition sont organisées, transformant le processus démocratique en simple formalité. Si ces tendances se poursuivent, l’indépendance de la profession juridique et l’impartialité du système judiciaire seront gravement menacées.
JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) affirme avec insistance que de telles actions injustes, discriminatoires et contraires à l’État de droit sont totalement inacceptables. Ces décisions doivent être immédiatement annulées, les droits des avocats concernés doivent être rétablis et les responsables doivent être tenus pour responsables à travers une enquête indépendante, impartiale et judiciaire. Parallèlement, des mesures juridiques et institutionnelles efficaces doivent être mises en place afin de garantir que les futures élections des barreaux soient libres de toute influence politique.
Le JMBF est fermement convaincu que ce schéma continu de mesures répressives à l’encontre de la communauté juridique ne constitue pas seulement une privation des droits d’un groupe professionnel, mais représente une atteinte grave et dangereuse à l’indépendance de la justice, à l’État de droit et au cadre démocratique du Bangladesh.
Exigences de JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) :
- Assurer une enquête impartiale et judiciaire sur tous les cas d’irrégularités électorales, d’entraves et de violences liés aux barreaux concernés.
- Assurer l’annulation des élections non participatives et l’organisation de nouvelles élections libres, équitables et inclusives.
- Assurer le droit constitutionnel des avocats de déposer leur candidature et de participer aux élections.
- Assurer l’égalité des chances et la sécurité pour toutes les parties impliquées dans le processus électoral.
- Assurer le rétablissement de la structure démocratique des organisations professionnelles conformément aux normes internationales.
Le JMBF exhorte vivement les Nations Unies, les organisations internationales de défense des droits de l’homme, les conseils du barreau et les institutions mondiales œuvrant pour l’État de droit à prêter attention à cette situation au Bangladesh et à prendre les mesures nécessaires.
Le JMBF restera toujours fermement engagé en faveur de la justice, des droits de l’homme et de l’État de droit.

Incident n° 01 : Annulation de la candidature de 11 avocats pro-Awami League lors de l’élection du barreau de Munshiganj
La candidature de 11 avocats proches de l’Awami League a été annulée lors de l’élection de l’Association du barreau du district de Munshiganj. Cette décision a été annoncée dans un avis d’urgence publié par la commission électorale du barreau dans la nuit du jeudi 16 avril.
Les candidats dont la candidature a été annulée sont : Mohammad Ali au poste de président ; Md. Firoz Khan et Lavlu Molla aux postes de vice-président ; Mahbubur Rahman Sabuj et Abdul Halim Sardar au poste de secrétaire général ; Md. Nayan Mia au poste de secrétaire adjoint ; Md. Mostafa au poste de trésorier ; Prince Faisal Ahmed au poste de secrétaire administratif ; Mousumi Akter au poste de secrétaire aux affaires féminines ; Abu Hanif Hiru Molla au poste de secrétaire aux sports et à la culture ; et Md. Shah Ali Dewan Nishan au poste de membre exécutif.
Cette année, aucun panel n’a été présenté sous la bannière de l’Awami League. Toutefois, des avocats ayant précédemment participé aux élections sous cette bannière se sont présentés en tant que candidats indépendants.
L’avis précise que, le 5 avril, les dossiers de candidature ont été examinés. Le 8 avril, le Parlement a adopté à l’unanimité une loi interdisant toutes les activités politiques de l’Awami League et de ses organisations affiliées. Après examen des demandes déposées, il a été établi que ces candidats étaient liés à une organisation interdite, ce qui a conduit à leur disqualification pour l’élection 2026-2027.
Incident n° 02 : Annulation des candidatures de 16 candidats au barreau de Mymensingh, qualifiés de collaborateurs du fascisme
Dans le cadre de l’élection du comité exécutif 2026-2027 du barreau de Mymensingh, les candidatures de 16 personnes ont été annulées après avoir été identifiées comme collaborateurs de forces fascistes.
Selon un avis signé par Abdul Bari, responsable électoral, les candidatures déposées le 13 avril ont été examinées le 15 avril, et celles liées à des organisations interdites ou considérées comme collaboratrices ont été rejetées.
Les candidats concernés incluent notamment Badr Uddin Ahmed, Didarul Islam, A.K.M. Kamal Hossain Khan, Mizanur Rahman Talukdar, Emdadul Haque, ainsi que plusieurs autres aux différents postes.
Le calendrier électoral, annoncé le 12 avril, précisait que les membres d’organisations interdites ne pouvaient pas participer à l’élection.
Incident n° 03 : Pression policière sur un candidat pro-Awami League pour retirer sa candidature à Thakurgaon
Des accusations ont été formulées selon lesquelles la police s’est rendue, dans la nuit du 8 avril, au domicile du candidat à la présidence Mostak Alam (Tulu) afin de faire pression sur sa famille pour qu’il se retire de l’élection.
Mostak Alam, dirigeant local de l’Awami League (organisation interdite), se présentait comme candidat indépendant. La police, dirigée par le chef du commissariat local, se serait rendue à son domicile en son absence et aurait exercé des pressions sur son épouse.
Incident n° 04 : Élection du barreau de Panchagarh tenue sans la participation d’avocats pro-Awami League
L’élection du barreau de Panchagarh s’est tenue le 9 avril sans permettre la participation d’avocats pro-Awami League, qualifiés de collaborateurs de l’ancien gouvernement.
Le scrutin s’est déroulé de 9h à 16h. Après dépouillement, les candidats proches du BNP ont remporté 9 des 11 postes, dont ceux de président et de secrétaire général.
Incident n° 05 : Élection du barreau de Jhalokathi sans participation des avocats pro-Awami League
L’élection du barreau de Jhalokathi, tenue le 5 mars, s’est déroulée sans la participation des avocats pro-Awami League.
Le vote a eu lieu de 10h à 14h. Les candidats soutenus par le Forum nationaliste des avocats ont remporté la majorité des postes. Un autre panel lié au BNP a remporté quatre postes, tandis que les candidats soutenus par Jamaat n’ont obtenu aucun siège.
Incident n° 06 : Élection du barreau de Khulna sans participation des avocats pro-Awami League
Le scrutin du 28 février au barreau de Khulna s’est tenu sans la participation des avocats pro-Awami League, qualifiés de collaborateurs d’un régime fasciste.
Le panel soutenu par le Forum nationaliste des avocats a remporté une victoire écrasante lors de cette élection portant sur 14 postes.
Incident n° 07 : Élection du barreau de Narail sans participation des avocats pro-Awami League
L’élection du barreau de Narail, tenue le 16 février, s’est déroulée sans la participation des avocats pro-Awami League.
Le vote a eu lieu de 9h à 15h, et les résultats ont été annoncés le soir. Les postes de président et de secrétaire général ont été remportés par des candidats soutenus par le Forum nationaliste des avocats. Plusieurs autres postes ont été pourvus sans opposition.
Incident n° 08 : Élection du barreau de Sunamganj sans participation des avocats pro-Awami League
L’élection du barreau de Sunamganj s’est tenue le 16 février sans la participation des avocats pro-Awami League.
Le dépouillement a été achevé à 21h. Sur 16 postes, seuls quatre ont été soumis au vote, les autres ayant été attribués sans opposition, notamment les postes de vice-président senior, trésorier et plusieurs fonctions exécutives.
