JMBF Condemns Police Torture and Arbitrary Arrests, Demands Immediate Release of Detained Workers and Labour Leaders, Independent Investigations and Accountability
Paris, France | 01 November 2026: JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) strongly condemns police torture and arbitrary arrests targeting garment workers, including women, as well as students passing through the area, during peaceful demonstrations in Ashulia, Gazipur and Dhaka’s Mirpur on 31 October and 1 November 2026. JMBF demands independent investigations into police abuses and arbitrary arrests, accountability for those responsible, and protection of detained workers and labour leaders.
