JMBF Calls for an Immediate Moratorium on Executions and the Abolition of the Death Penalty in Bangladesh

Paris, France | 10 October 2026: On the occasion of the 24th World Day Against the Death Penalty, JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) reaffirms its unequivocal opposition to capital punishment in all circumstances and expresses grave concern over its continued application in Bangladesh. The organisation calls upon the Government of Bangladesh to immediately establish an official moratorium on executions, commute all existing death sentences, and initiate comprehensive legal reforms towards the complete abolition of capital punishment.
