JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) is inviting applications from passionate and committed individuals to join our team as Volunteer. Research Assistant (Remote). This voluntary position aims to support documentation, research, and advocacy efforts related to torture, extrajudicial killings, and custodial deaths in Bangladesh.

About JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF)

JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France is a France-based international human rights organization dedicated to defending human rights, promoting social justice, and empowering communities in Bangladesh and beyond. JMBF works to document human rights violations, support victims, and advocate internationally for the protection of fundamental rights.

Position Details

• Position: Research Volunteer (Remote)
• Number of Positions: Multiple
• Location: Remote
• Duration: 3–6 months (with possibility of extension)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desk research on incidents of torture, extrajudicial killings, and custodial deaths in Bangladesh.
• Monitor and collect information from credible sources including news reports, human rights reports, and legal documents.
• Assist in compiling case documentation and maintaining research databases.
• Support the preparation of reports, briefings, and advocacy materials.
• Contribute to fact-checking and verification of human rights information.

Eligibility Criteria

• 1st–final year undergraduate students, master's students, or recent graduates in Law, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, Criminology, Journalism, or related fields.
• Strong interest in human rights issues in Bangladesh.
• Interest in research, analysis, and writing.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Interest in international lobbying and advocacy.
• Proficiency in English (knowledge of Bangla is an advantage).
