JMBF believes that these actions constitute a serious assault on democracy, the rule of law, and fundamental human rights in the country. JMBF believes that these measures are not merely isolated law-and-order actions; rather, they form part of a systematic campaign of repression aimed at suppressing political opposition, intimidating dissenting voices, and restricting democratic political activities.
According to reports published in various national newspapers and information obtained from JMBF’s own reliable sources, at least 333 leaders, activists, and supporters of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations were arrested in operations conducted across different parts of the country between 1 June and 7 June 2026. It has been reported that cases were filed against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other stringent laws and that they were subsequently sent to prison.
Based on information published in the media and verified by JMBF, the figure of 333 arrests documented by the organization is significantly lower than the actual scale of the situation. JMBF firmly believes that there are substantial grounds to fear that the real number of arbitrary mass arrests nationwide may exceed one thousand.
Particularly alarming is the reported arrest of 17 children in Noakhali, who were allegedly charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and sent to prison. The application of such legislation against children and their imprisonment is in clear violation of international human rights law, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the fundamental principles of justice.
According to verified information received by JMBF, arbitrary arrests of leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations include 86 individuals in Chattogram, 57 in Cumilla, 49 in Noakhali, 41 in Jashore, 35 in Dhaka, 21 in Rangamati, 14 in Lalmonirhat, 9 in Narayanganj, 9 in Mymensingh, 5 in Kishoreganj, 4 in Lakshmipur, and 3 in Naogaon.
A review of available information indicates that, in most cases, actions were taken against the individuals concerned for participating in peaceful rallies and assemblies, chanting political slogans, expressing political views on social media, or solely on the basis of their political affiliation. In many instances, the nature of the allegations and the manner in which the law has been applied appear to be politically motivated.
JMBF’s observations suggest that the filing of cases and arrests against large numbers of leaders, activists, and supporters for participating in peaceful political programmes, expressing political slogans, sharing views on social media, or because of their political identity has given rise to serious allegations of abuse of state power and violations of human rights. In a democratic state, treating political disagreement as a criminal offence and applying stringent laws such as the Anti-Terrorism Act against followers of opposing political ideologies is inconsistent with justice, the rule of law, and international human rights standards.
JMBF believes that these arbitrary mass arrests, politically motivated cases, judicial harassment, and the application of repressive laws—carried out with the objective of suppressing political dissent, creating fear among opposition supporters, and obstructing democratic political activities—are contrary to justice, human rights, and democratic values.
JMBF’s Founder and President, distinguished human rights lawyer Advocate Shahanur Islam, stated:
“Freedom of expression, the right to peaceful assembly, and the right to participate in political activities are internationally recognized fundamental human rights. As a State Party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Bangladesh is under an international obligation to protect these rights. However, recent developments suggest that individuals are being targeted and subjected to repressive measures based on their political identity and ideology, which is deeply concerning for any democratic state.”
JMBF strongly urges the newly formed Government of Bangladesh, the relevant authorities, and law enforcement agencies to:
1. Immediately and unconditionally release all individuals arrested for participating in peaceful political activities;
2. Immediately withdraw all politically motivated, harassing, and baseless cases filed against them;
3. Dismiss all cases filed against children, ensure their immediate release, and provide appropriate rehabilitation measures;
4. End the political misuse of the Anti-Terrorism Act and other laws;
5. Guarantee the constitutional rights to political expression, freedom of association, and peaceful assembly;
6. Ensure an impartial, independent, and internationally credible investigation into allegations of arbitrary mass arrests, political persecution, judicial harassment, and human rights violations;
7. Immediately lift all restrictions imposed on the political activities of the Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliated organizations and ensure their full, free, and unhindered participation in political organization, freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and democratic political activities.
JMBF calls upon the United Nations, the European Union, international human rights organizations, diplomatic missions, and global institutions dedicated to democracy and human rights to closely monitor the ongoing political repression, arbitrary mass arrests, politically motivated prosecutions, judicial harassment, and restrictions on freedom of expression in Bangladesh and to take effective measures to protect human rights.
In a democratic state, political disagreement should never be treated as a criminal offence. Arbitrary mass arrests, politically motivated cases, and the misuse of anti-terrorism legislation against citizens for participating in peaceful political activities pose a grave threat to the country’s democratic foundations, human rights, and the rule of law. JMBF strongly condemns such actions and demands an immediate end to these repressive measures.

Brief Description of the Incidents: (According to reports published in various national newspapers and information obtained from JMBF’s own reliable sources)
Police have detained 45 leaders and activists of the Chhatra League in connection with a flash protest procession in the Matiara area along the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway in Cumilla Sadar South Upazila. On Sunday afternoon, 7 June, a sudden procession was brought out on the Chattogram-bound lane under the leadership of Israfil Piyas, General Secretary of the South Cumilla District Chhatra League. Local BNP leaders and activists chased the procession, causing it to disperse. Subsequently, police conducted an operation and detained 45 individuals from the Matiara area. Three HiAce vehicles and two minibuses were also seized from the scene. Police stated that legal action is being taken against those involved in the incident.
Incident No. 02: 12 Arrested Following Awami League Flash Processions in Cumilla
Police arrested 12 leaders and activists over a three-day period from 1 to 3 June 2026 in connection with flash processions organized by the Awami League and its affiliated organizations in the Chandina and Burichang sections of the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway in Cumilla. Following the procession held on Sunday, 31 May, Mithun Kumar Mondal, Sub-Inspector of Chandina Police Station, filed a case naming 18 individuals as accused and including another 25–30 unidentified persons. In subsequent operations, police arrested a total of 12 individuals, including former Vice-President of Chandina Municipal Jubo League Monir Hossain, Union Jubo League President Akhtar Hossain Shahin, Krishak League leader M. A. Ali Ershad, Chhatra League leader Md. Kamruzzaman, Matsyajibi League leader Md. Mominul Islam, Awami League leaders Ohid Member and Robiul Hasan. Police stated that the arrested individuals have been sent to court and that operations are continuing to arrest others involved in the incident.
Incident No. 03: 49 Arrested, Including 17 Children, Following Chhatra League Procession in Noakhali
After a protest procession organized by the Chhatra League in the Bandherhat Bazar area of Noakhali Sadar Upazila on the afternoon of 5 June, leaders and activists of the Chhatra Dal detained a total of 18 individuals, including 17 children, from the Maijdee Municipal Market area of the district town at around 9:00 p.m. the same day and handed them over to the police. They claimed that the detained individuals were Chhatra League activists preparing to organize another procession.
Meanwhile, from the night of 5 June until dawn on 6 June, police conducted special operations in the Eojbalia, Kaladarap, and Noakhali Municipality areas of Sadar Upazila and arrested a total of 49 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations. Among those arrested were 9 Jubo League and 15 Chhatra League activists. They were subsequently charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and sent to prison through court orders.
Incident No. 04: 68 Awami League Leaders and Activists Arrested Following Procession in Chattogram
Police arrested 68 leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League in connection with a procession held on 2 June in the GEC Circle area of Chattogram city. They have been accused of involvement in the procession, acts of sabotage, and various anti-state activities.
Among those arrested, 13 were detained under Khulshi Police Station, 12 each under Bayezid Bostami and Kotwali Police Stations, 10 under Panchlaish Police Station, 7 under Double Mooring Police Station, 3 under EPZ Police Station, 2 each under Bakalia and Karnaphuli Police Stations, and 1 each under Chawkbazar, Chandgaon, Halishahar, Pahartali, Akbar Shah, Bandar, and Patenga Police Stations.
Police stated that efforts are continuing to identify and arrest others involved in the procession-related incident.
Police arrested 13 leaders and activists on the night of 5 June in connection with a procession organized by the Awami League, Jubo League, and the banned Chhatra League in Chattogram.
According to sources at the CMP Double Mooring Police Station, at around 10:30 a.m. that day, leaders and activists of the organizations gathered and brought out a procession on the south side of Islami Bank Hospital in the Barek Building area under Bandar Police Station. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene, after which participants in the procession dispersed through various alleyways.
Later, acting on confidential information, police conducted operations in different parts of the city and arrested 13 individuals on allegations of participating in the procession. Among those arrested are Md. Omar Faruk, President of Halishahar Thana Jubo League; Ahmed Reza, Joint General Secretary of Double Mooring Thana Chhatra League; and Md. Irfan, a member of Karnaphuli Thana Jubo League.
On 6 June, three leaders and activists of the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League were arrested and sent to jail through a court order on allegations of organizing a flash procession in front of DC Park in Salimpur, Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram District on 5 June 2026, chanting provocative slogans against the state and the government, and attempting to create panic among the public. In connection with the incident, a case was filed naming 37 leaders and activists as accused and including another 35 unidentified persons.
Police arrested two Chhatra League leaders from a wedding ceremony in Boalkhali, Chattogram, on allegations of posting a video on Facebook containing the slogan “Joy Bangla.” On 5 June, during a mehendi ceremony of a young woman at Alamia Tondol Bari in Boalkhali Municipality, Md. Abdul Aziz (26), Assistant Editor of Haji Nurul Haque Degree College Chhatra League, and member Md. Raihan (23) recorded a video chanting the slogan “Joy Bangla” and uploaded it to Facebook.
After the video spread on social media, the matter came to the attention of the authorities. On the night of 6 June, Boalkhali Police Station conducted an operation at an ongoing wedding ceremony at a community center in the Amtal area of Arakan Road and arrested the two individuals.
Police detained approximately 15 to 20 individuals following chants of “Joy Bangla” after the first funeral prayer of veteran Awami League leader and former minister Tofail Ahmed at Masjid-ut-Taqwa in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, on the evening of 1 June.
At around 7:15 p.m., after the funeral prayer concluded, a group of individuals chanted slogans. Police then carried out a baton charge and detained several people. The identities of those detained were not immediately disclosed.
Police arrested 12 leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, Swechchhasebak League, and affiliated organizations during special operations conducted in Dohar and Nawabganj Upazilas of Dhaka from the night of 2 June until the early hours of 3 June.
The activists, who had been accused in sabotage cases filed in connection with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, were detained during operations conducted in various locations. Among those arrested were Abdul Quddus, a member of Dohar Thana Swechchhasebak League; Ripon Bhuiyan, former General Secretary of Muksudpur Union Awami League; Chhatra League leader Sarwar Alam Hanif and six others from Dohar; as well as five leaders of the Jubo League, Awami League, and Tanti League from Nawabganj.
When they were produced before the court on 3 June, the judge ordered that they be sent to prison.
Law enforcement agencies arrested three Awami League leaders in separate operations conducted in Savar and Ashulia, Dhaka.
In the early hours of 4 June, police arrested Ershadur Rahman, a Ward President of the Awami League, from in front of Savar Model Mosque in connection with a murder case related to the Anti-Discrimination Student-People Movement. He was detained during an operation conducted on the basis of confidential information.
On the same day, the Dhaka District Detective Branch (DB) Police conducted a special operation in Ashulia and arrested two more Awami League leaders. They were Abdul Halim Member (55), former General Secretary of Ward No. 8 of Dhamsona Union Awami League, and Sohel Molla (35), General Secretary of Iarpur Union Awami League.
Police arrested 9 leaders and activists in a case filed under the Speedy Trial Act in connection with a flash procession organized by the banned organization Chhatra League in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. They were detained during overnight operations conducted in various areas of the upazila on 6 June and were subsequently sent to prison through court orders.
According to police, a procession was held in the Square Masterbari area under the leadership of Upazila Chhatra League General Secretary Afsanul Islam Khan, and photographs and videos of the procession later spread on social media. In connection with the incident, SI Fazlul Islam of Bhaluka Model Police Station filed a case naming 55 individuals as accused and including another 25–30 unidentified persons. Immediately after the case was filed, police conducted operations and arrested 9 individuals.
Police arrested 23 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations during special operations conducted in Jashore. In operations carried out across different areas of the district on the night of 7 June, 13 individuals were detained in the Jashore Kotwali Police Station area, while another 10 were arrested in the upazilas of Monirampur, Keshabpur, and Chaugachha.
Among those arrested in Monirampur were former Ward Awami League Presidents Abdul Gafur and Nazrul Islam, Swechchhasebak League leader Mofizur Rahman, Jubo League leader Ashraful Kabir Palash, and former Chhatra League activist Zahid Hasan Rosi. In Keshabpur, Municipal Awami League Office Secretary Salauddin and former Krishak League General Secretary Robiul Islam were detained. In addition, police arrested Kamruzzaman, a member of Upazila Awami League; Jubo League leader Sohraf Hossain; and Awami League Assistant Publicity Secretary Shafique Haidar Lovlu in Chaugachha.
Incident No. 13: Flash Procession by Jubo League in Jashore; 10 Arrested
On Sunday afternoon, 7 June, a group of 20–25 individuals under the banner of the Jubo League brought out a flash procession in the Dharmatala area of Jashore town while chanting various slogans. When police chased them, the procession dispersed.
Subsequently, members of law enforcement agencies, including the Detective Branch (DB) Police and Kotwali Police Station Police, arrived at the scene and detained 10 suspects. They were first taken to the DB office and later handed over to Kotwali Police Station.
According to police sources, many leaders and activists had previously been arrested and sent to prison in connection with various Awami League-aligned processions allegedly conducted under the banner of the Jubo League and accused of engaging in prohibited activities in the Bablatala, Garib Shah, and Post Office Para areas of the town.
Incident No. 14: 8 Chhatra League Activists Arrested in Two Separate Processions in Jashore
Police detained 8 activists in connection with two separate flash processions organized by the Chhatra League in Jashore. They were detained during operations conducted on 4 and 5 June and were later charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and sent to prison through court orders.
On 5 June, after Friday prayers, a procession organized by Sharsha Upazila Chhatra League was brought out in the Benapole Municipal Gate area. Following a chase by Chhatra Dal activists, the participants quickly dispersed. Police subsequently searched the scene and surrounding areas and arrested two suspects.
Earlier, on the afternoon of 4 June, another procession involving Chhatra League leaders and activists from different levels of the upazila was held in the Rostampur area along the Jashore–Narail Highway. Six activists were detained from that location.
Among those detained were Jihad Hawlader, Yasin Arafat Nirob, Prince, Shahariar Ahmed Swadhin, Tanoy, and Tamim Iqbal.
Kotwali Police Station Police arrested 21 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations during a special operation conducted in Rangamati district town on the night of 7 June.
Among those detained during operations conducted in different parts of the town were Jasim Uddin, President of Ward No. 1 Jubo League of Rangamati Municipality; Babu Tripura, General Secretary of the same ward unit; and Naresh Majumdar, General Secretary of Ward No. 6 Awami League, along with a total of 21 individuals.
According to police sources, surveillance was intensified following a recent increase in the activities of certain Awami League leaders and activists on social media, as well as incidents involving party slogans and wall writings in several areas of the town. The special operation was conducted as part of that enhanced monitoring, leading to their arrests.
Police arrested 12 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations, whose activities have been banned, including a former principal, in connection with a flash procession in Kaliganj and Patgram upazilas of Lalmonirhat. They were detained during operations conducted following a procession held in the town on 5 June.
Among those arrested are former Principal Azizar Rahman, Ershadul Haque, Jubo League leader Ashraful Haque, Union Parishad member Ripon Chandra Roy, and Anwar Hossain.
Incident No. 17: 5 Awami League Activists Arrested in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj
Police arrested five leaders and activists of the Awami League and Jubo League during a special operation conducted in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, on 6 June. Siddhirganj Police Station carried out operations in various areas and detained them.
Those arrested are Jibon (34), a Jubo League activist of Ward No. 7; Md. Alam, an Awami League activist of Ward No. 6; Md. Sohel (44), an Awami League activist of Ward No. 7; Aynal Mia (45), Joint General Secretary of Ward No. 8 Awami League; and Jahangir Alam Bidyut (35), a member of Ward No. 8 Jubo League.
Police stated that legal action has been taken against them in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Incident No. 18: Procession Under the Banner of Jubo League in Narayanganj; 4 Arrested
Sadar Model Police Station arrested four leaders and activists on allegations of creating panic among the public by organizing a procession under the banner of the Jubo League in the Narayanganj Sadar area.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. on 1 June, police conducted an operation in the Syedpur Roundabout area of Sadar Upazila and detained them.
The arrested individuals are Md. Shahin (43), Md. Billal Hossain (38), and Md. Amir Hossain (41) of the Old Syedpur area, and Md. Samrat (40) of the Madanganj Lakarchar area of Bandar.
Police stated that legal action has been taken against them on allegations of creating public panic and disrupting the law-and-order situation by organizing a procession under the banner of the Jubo League.
Incident No. 19: Procession by the Banned Chhatra League in Kishoreganj; 5 Arrested
More than one hundred leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League brought out a flash procession on Isha Khan Rathkhola Road in Kishoreganj district town on the morning of 3 June and later held a gathering in front of Tamaltala Government Primary School.
After videos of the procession spread on social media, police conducted operations in different parts of the district and arrested five leaders of the Awami League, Swechchhasebak League, and Chhatra League.
Those arrested are Kanchan Mia, General Secretary of Rashidabad Union Awami League; Sohel Rana alias Russell, General Secretary of Mohinanda Union Swechchhasebak League; district Chhatra League leader Atikuzzaman Alif; district Awami League leader Kanchan; and Ashraful Imam Sharif, Joint General Secretary of Chouddashata Union Awami League.
Incident No. 20: Four Awami League Activists Arrested in Special Operation in Ramganj, Lakshmipur
Police arrested four Awami League activists during a special operation conducted in Ramganj, Lakshmipur.
The individuals detained during the operation carried out on 5 June were sent to jail through a court order on 6 June.
Police stated that they were arrested in connection with a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act on 17 July of the previous year.
Those arrested are Mahibur Rahman Fahim, President of Chandipur Union Chhatra League; Saiful Islam Arju, an active member of the Jubo League; Rubel Hossain; and Shah Alam, an active member of the Awami League from the West Boriaish area.
Incident No. 21: Three Chhatra League Members Detained in Naogaon Over Highway Procession
Police detained three members of the Chhatra League in Naogaon on allegations of blocking roads, obstructing vehicular movement, and creating panic among the public.
On the night of 1 June, Naogaon Sadar Police Station conducted special operations in different parts of the district and detained them.
The detained individuals are Manik alias Pilot (32), Md. Saju (40), and Habib Hossain Munna (28), all from the Sheikhpara area of Naogaon Sadar Upazila.
Police stated that legal action has been taken against them on allegations of organizing a procession on the highway and causing public inconvenience.

জেএমবিএফ-এর নিকট প্রাপ্ত যাচাইকৃত তথ্য অনুযায়ী, চট্টগ্রামে ৮৬ জন, কুমিল্লায় ৫৭ জন, নোয়াখালীতে ৪৯ জন, যশোরে ৪১ জন, ঢাকায় ৩৫ জন, রাঙামাটিতে ২১ জন, লালমনিরহাটে ১৪ জন, নারায়ণগঞ্জে ৯ জন, ময়মনসিংহে ৯ জন, কিশোরগঞ্জে ৫ জন, লক্ষ্মীপুরে ৪ জন এবং নওগাঁয় ৩ জন আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর অঙ্গসংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীকে স্বেচ্ছাচারীভাবে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে।
উপলব্ধ তথ্য পর্যালোচনায় দেখা যায় যে, অধিকাংশ ক্ষেত্রে সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের বিরুদ্ধে শান্তিপূর্ণ মিছিল ও সমাবেশে অংশগ্রহণ,রাজনৈতিক স্লোগান প্রদান, সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে রাজনৈতিক মতপ্রকাশ অথবা রাজনৈতিক পরিচয়ের ভিত্তিতে ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে বলে প্রতীয়মান হয়। বহু ক্ষেত্রে অভিযোগের প্রকৃতি এবং আইন প্রয়োগের ধরন রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত বলেই প্রতিভাত হয়।
জেএমবিএফ-এর পর্যবেক্ষণে প্রতীয়মান হয় যে, শান্তিপূর্ণ রাজনৈতিক কর্মসূচিতে অংশগ্রহণ, রাজনৈতিক স্লোগান প্রদান, সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে মতপ্রকাশ কিংবা রাজনৈতিক পরিচয়ের ভিত্তিতে বিপুলসংখ্যক নেতাকর্মী ও সমর্থকের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের ও গ্রেপ্তারের ঘটনা রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতার অপব্যবহার এবং মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনের গুরুতর অভিযোগের জন্ম দিয়েছে। একটি গণতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্রে রাজনৈতিক মতভেদকে অপরাধ হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা এবং বিরোধী রাজনৈতিক মতাদর্শের অনুসারীদের বিরুদ্ধে সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনের মতো কঠোর আইন প্রয়োগ করা ন্যায়বিচার, আইনের শাসন এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার মানদণ্ডের সঙ্গে অসামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ।
জেএমবিএফ মনে করে, রাজনৈতিক ভিন্নমত দমন, বিরোধী মতাবলম্বীদের মধ্যে ভীতি সৃষ্টি এবং গণতান্ত্রিক রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডকে বাধাগ্রস্ত করার উদ্দেশ্যে পরিচালিত এই স্বেচ্ছাচারী গণগ্রেপ্তার, রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত মামলা, বিচারিক হয়রানি এবং দমনমূলক আইন প্রয়োগ ন্যায়বিচার, মানবাধিকার এবং গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধের পরিপন্থী।
জেএমবিএফ-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি, বিশিষ্ট মানবাধিকার আইনজীবী অ্যাডভোকেট শাহানূর ইসলাম বলেন:
“মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা, শান্তিপূর্ণ সমাবেশের অধিকার এবং রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণের অধিকার আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে স্বীকৃত মৌলিক মানবাধিকার। বাংলাদেশ আন্তর্জাতিক নাগরিক ও রাজনৈতিক অধিকার সম্পর্কিত চুক্তি (ICCPR)-এর সদস্যরাষ্ট্র হিসেবে এসব অধিকার সুরক্ষার আন্তর্জাতিক বাধ্যবাধকতার অধীন। অথচ সাম্প্রতিক ঘটনাবলি থেকে প্রতীয়মান হয় যে, রাজনৈতিক পরিচয় ও মতাদর্শের ভিত্তিতে ব্যক্তিদের লক্ষ্যবস্তুতে পরিণত করে দমনমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হচ্ছে, যা একটি গণতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্রের জন্য অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগজনক।”
জেএমবিএফ বাংলাদেশের নবগঠিত সরকার, সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রশাসন এবং আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর প্রতি জোরালোভাবে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে—
১. শান্তিপূর্ণ রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণের অভিযোগে গ্রেপ্তারকৃত সকল ব্যক্তিকে অবিলম্বে ও নিঃশর্তভাবে মুক্তি দেওয়া হোক;
২. তাদের বিরুদ্ধে দায়েরকৃত সকল রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত, হয়রানিমূলক ও ভিত্তিহীন মামলা অবিলম্বে প্রত্যাহার করা হোক;
৩. শিশুদের বিরুদ্ধে দায়েরকৃত মামলা বাতিল করে তাদের অবিলম্বে মুক্তি এবং পুনর্বাসনের ব্যবস্থা করা হোক;
৪. সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনসহ বিভিন্ন আইনের রাজনৈতিক অপব্যবহার বন্ধ করা হোক;
৫. রাজনৈতিক মতপ্রকাশ, সংগঠন করার অধিকার এবং শান্তিপূর্ণ সমাবেশের সাংবিধানিক অধিকার নিশ্চিত করা হোক;
৬. স্বেচ্ছাচারী গণগ্রেপ্তার, রাজনৈতিক নিপীড়ন, বিচারিক হয়রানি এবং মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনের অভিযোগসমূহের নিরপেক্ষ, স্বাধীন ও আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন তদন্ত নিশ্চিত করা হোক;
৭. বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ ও তার অঙ্গসংগঠনগুলোর রাজনৈতিক কার্যক্রমের ওপর আরোপিত সকল নিষেধাজ্ঞা অবিলম্বে প্রত্যাহার করে তাদের রাজনৈতিক সংগঠন, মতপ্রকাশ, শান্তিপূর্ণ সমাবেশ এবং গণতান্ত্রিক রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে পূর্ণাঙ্গ, অবাধ ও বাধাহীন অংশগ্রহণের অধিকার নিশ্চিত করা হোক।
জেএমবিএফ জাতিসংঘ, ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়ন, আন্তর্জাতিক মানবাধিকার সংস্থা, কূটনৈতিক মিশন এবং বৈশ্বিক গণতন্ত্র ও মানবাধিকারভিত্তিক প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে, যাতে তারা বাংলাদেশে চলমান রাজনৈতিক দমন-পীড়ন, স্বেচ্ছাচারী গণগ্রেপ্তার, রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত মামলা, বিচারিক হয়রানি এবং মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতার ওপর আরোপিত বিধিনিষেধসমূহ নিবিড়ভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ করে এবং মানবাধিকার সুরক্ষায় কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করে।
গণতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্রে রাজনৈতিক মতভেদ কখনোই ফৌজদারি অপরাধ হিসেবে বিবেচিত হতে পারে না। শান্তিপূর্ণ রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণের কারণে নাগরিকদের বিরুদ্ধে স্বেচ্ছাচারী গণগ্রেপ্তার, রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত মামলা এবং সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনের অপব্যবহার দেশের গণতান্ত্রিক ভিত্তি, মানবাধিকার এবং আইনের শাসনের জন্য মারাত্মক হুমকি। জেএমবিএফ এই ধরনের কর্মকাণ্ডের তীব্র নিন্দা জানাচ্ছে এবং অবিলম্বে এসব দমনমূলক পদক্ষেপের অবসান দাবি করছে।

ঘটনা নং-০১ : কুমিল্লা সদর দক্ষিণে ঝটিকা মিছিল: ছাত্রলীগের ৪৫ নেতাকর্মী গ্রেফতার
কুমিল্লা সদর দক্ষিণ উপজেলার ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের মাটিয়ারা এলাকায় ঝটিকা বিক্ষোভ মিছিলের ঘটনায় ছাত্রলীগের ৪৫ নেতাকর্মীকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। ৭ জুন রবিবার দুপুরে কুমিল্লা দক্ষিণ জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ইসরাফিল পিয়াসের নেতৃত্বে চট্টগ্রামমুখী লেনে হঠাৎ মিছিল বের হলে স্থানীয় বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীরা তাদের ধাওয়া করেন। এতে মিছিলটি ছত্রভঙ্গ হয়ে যায়। পরে পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে মাটিয়ারা এলাকা থেকে ৪৫ জনকে আটক করে এবং ঘটনাস্থল থেকে তিনটি হাইএস গাড়ি ও দুটি মিনিবাস জব্দ করে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, ঘটনায় জড়িতদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হচ্ছে।
ঘটনা নং-০২ : কুমিল্লায় আওয়ামী লীগের ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় গ্রেপ্তার ১২
ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের কুমিল্লার চান্দিনা ও বুড়িচং অংশে আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর অঙ্গ-সহযোগী সংগঠনের ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় ১ থেকে ৩ জুন ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত তিন দিনে ১২ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। ৩১ মে রবিবার অনুষ্ঠিত ওই মিছিলের পর চান্দিনা থানার উপ-পরিদর্শক মিথুন কুমার মণ্ডল বাদী হয়ে ১৮ জনের নাম উল্লেখ করে এবং আরও ২৫-৩০ জন অজ্ঞাত ব্যক্তিকে আসামি করে মামলা দায়ের করেন। পরবর্তী অভিযানে চান্দিনা পৌর যুবলীগের সাবেক সহ-সভাপতি মনির হোসেন, ইউনিয়ন যুবলীগ সভাপতি আক্তার হোসেন শাহীন, কৃষকলীগ নেতা এম. এ. আলী এরশাদ, ছাত্রলীগ নেতা মো. কামরুজ্জামান, মৎস্যজীবী লীগ নেতা মো. মমিনুল ইসলাম, আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা অহিদ মেম্বার ও রবিউল হাসানসহ মোট ১২ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, গ্রেপ্তারকৃতদের আদালতে পাঠানো হয়েছে এবং এ ঘটনায় জড়িত অন্যদের গ্রেপ্তারে অভিযান অব্যাহত রয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-০৩ : নোয়াখালীতে ছাত্রলীগের মিছিলের পর ১৭ শিশুসহ গ্রেপ্তার ৪৯
নোয়াখালীর সদর উপজেলার বাঁধেরহাট বাজার এলাকায় ৫ জুন বিকেলে ছাত্রলীগের উদ্যোগে একটি বিক্ষোভ মিছিল অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার পর একই দিন রাত ৯টার দিকে জেলা শহরের মাইজদী পৌরবাজার এলাকা থেকে ১৭ জন শিশুসহ মোট ১৮ জনকে আটক করে পুলিশের কাছে সোপর্দ করে ছাত্রদলের নেতাকর্মীরা। তাদের দাবি ছিল, আটক ব্যক্তিরা ছাত্রলীগের নেতাকর্মী এবং নতুন করে মিছিলের প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছিল। এদিকে ৫ জুন রাত থেকে ৬ জুন ভোর পর্যন্ত সদর উপজেলার এওজবালিয়া, কালাদরাপ ও নোয়াখালী পৌরসভা এলাকায় বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে পুলিশ আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর সহযোগী সংগঠনের মোট ৪৯ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। গ্রেপ্তারদের মধ্যে ৯ জন যুবলীগ ও ১৫ জন ছাত্রলীগের নেতাকর্মী রয়েছেন। পরে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনে মামলা দিয়ে আদালতের মাধ্যমে কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়।
ঘটনা নং-০৪ : চট্টগ্রামে মিছিলের ঘটনায় আওয়ামী লীগের ৬৮ নেতা-কর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
চট্টগ্রাম নগরের জিইসি মোড় এলাকায় ২ জুন অনুষ্ঠিত মিছিলের ঘটনায় আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ ও ছাত্রলীগের ৬৮ নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে মিছিল, নাশকতামূলক কর্মকাণ্ড এবং রাষ্ট্রবিরোধী বিভিন্ন কার্যকলাপে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগ আনা হয়েছে। গ্রেপ্তারকৃতদের মধ্যে খুলশী থানায় ১৩ জন, বায়েজিদ বোস্তামী ও কোতোয়ালী থানায় ১২ জন করে, পাঁচলাইশ থানায় ১০ জন, ডবলমুরিং থানায় ৭ জন, ইপিজেড থানায় ৩ জন, বাকলিয়া ও কর্ণফুলী থানায় ২ জন করে এবং চকবাজার, চান্দগাঁও, হালিশহর, পাহাড়তলী, আকবরশাহ, বন্দর ও পতেঙ্গা থানায় ১ জন করে রয়েছেন। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, মিছিল-সংক্রান্ত ঘটনায় জড়িত অন্যদের শনাক্ত ও গ্রেপ্তারে অভিযান অব্যাহত রয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-০৫ : চট্টগ্রামে মিছিল: আওয়ামী লীগ-যুবলীগ-ছাত্রলীগের ১৩ নেতাকর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
চট্টগ্রামে আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ ও নিষিদ্ধ ছাত্রলীগের মিছিলের ঘটনায় ৫ জুন রাতে ১৩ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। সিএমপির ডবলমুরিং থানা সূত্র জানায়, সেদিন সকাল সাড়ে ১০টার দিকে বন্দর থানার বারেক বিল্ডিং এলাকায় ইসলামী ব্যাংক হাসপাতালের দক্ষিণ পাশে সংগঠনগুলোর নেতাকর্মীরা জড়ো হয়ে মিছিল বের করেন। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছালে মিছিলে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা বিভিন্ন অলিগলি দিয়ে সরে যান। পরে গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে নগরের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে মিছিলে অংশ নেওয়ার অভিযোগে ১৩ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তারদের মধ্যে হালিশহর থানা যুবলীগের সভাপতি মো. ওমর ফারুক, ছাত্রলীগের ডবলমুরিং থানার যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক আহমদ রেজা এবং কর্ণফুলী থানা যুবলীগের সদস্য মো. ইরফান রয়েছেন।
ঘটনা নং-০৬ : চট্টগ্রামের সীতাকুণ্ডে ঝটিকা মিছিলের অভিযোগে ৭২ জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা, গ্রেপ্তার ৩
গত ৫ জুন ২০২৬ তারিখে চট্টগ্রাম জেলার সীতাকুণ্ড উপজেলার সলিমপুরের ডিসি পার্কের সামনে ঝটিকা মিছিল করে রাষ্ট্র ও সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে উসকানিমূলক স্লোগান দেওয়া এবং জনমনে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টির চেষ্টার অভিযোগে আওয়ামী লীগ, ছাত্রলীগ ও যুবলীগের তিন নেতাকর্মীকে ৬ জুন গ্রেপ্তার করে আদালতের মাধ্যমে জেলহাজতে পাঠানো হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় ৩৭ জন নেতাকর্মীর নাম উল্লেখ করে এবং আরও ৩৫ জনকে অজ্ঞাতনামা আসামি করে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-০৭ : চট্টগ্রামে ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগানের ভিডিও পোস্ট: বিয়ের আসর থেকে গ্রেপ্তার ২ ছাত্রলীগ নেতা
চট্টগ্রামের বোয়ালখালীতে ফেসবুকে ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগান দিয়ে ভিডিও পোস্ট করার অভিযোগে দুই ছাত্রলীগ নেতাকে বিয়ের আসর থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। গত ৫ জুন বোয়ালখালী পৌরসভার আলামিয়া টেন্ডল বাড়িতে এক তরুণীর মেহেদি অনুষ্ঠানে হাজী নুরুল হক ডিগ্রি কলেজ ছাত্রলীগের সহ-সম্পাদক মো. আব্দুল আজিজ (২৬) ও সদস্য মো. রায়হান (২৩) ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগান দিয়ে একটি ভিডিও ধারণ করে ফেসবুকে আপলোড করেন। ভিডিওটি সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়লে বিষয়টি প্রশাসনের নজরে আসে। পরদিন ৬ জুন রাতে আরাকান সড়কের আমতল এলাকার একটি কমিউনিটি সেন্টারে চলমান বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠান থেকে অভিযান চালিয়ে তাদের গ্রেপ্তার করে বোয়ালখালী থানা পুলিশ।
ঘটনা নং-০৮ : ঢাকার ধানমন্ডিতে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা তোফায়েল আহমেদের জানাজায় ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগান, আটক ২০
রাজধানীর ধানমন্ডির মসজিদ-উত-তাকওয়ায় ১ জুন সন্ধ্যায় আওয়ামী লীগের বর্ষীয়ান নেতা ও সাবেক মন্ত্রী তোফায়েল আহমেদের প্রথম জানাজা শেষে ‘জয় বাংলা’ স্লোগান দেওয়ায় পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে প্রায় ১৫ থেকে ২০ জনকে আটক করে। সন্ধ্যা সোয়া ৭টার দিকে জানাজা শেষে একদল ব্যক্তি স্লোগান দিলে পুলিশ লাঠিচার্জ করে এবং কয়েকজনকে আটক করে। আটক ব্যক্তিদের পরিচয় তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে প্রকাশ করা হয়নি।
ঘটনা নং-০৯ : ঢাকার দোহার-নবাবগঞ্জে বিশেষ অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগের ১২ নেতাকর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
ঢাকার দোহার ও নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলায় ২ জুন রাত থেকে ৩ জুন ভোর পর্যন্ত পরিচালিত বিশেষ অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ, ছাত্রলীগ, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের ১২ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনকে কেন্দ্র করে দায়ের হওয়া নাশকতা মামলায় অভিযুক্ত এসব নেতাকর্মীকে বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে আটক করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তারদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন দোহার থানা স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগের সদস্য আব্দুল কুদ্দুস, মুকসুদপুর ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক রিপন ভূঁইয়া, ছাত্রলীগ নেতা সারোয়ার আলম হানিফসহ সাতজন এবং নবাবগঞ্জে যুবলীগ, আওয়ামী লীগ ও তাঁতী লীগের পাঁচ নেতা। ৩ জুন তাদের আদালতে হাজির করা হলে বিচারক কারাগারে পাঠানোর নির্দেশ দেন।
ঘটনা নং-১০ : ঢাকার সাভার ও আশুলিয়ায় পৃথক অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগের ৩ নেতা গ্রেপ্তার
ঢাকার সাভার ও আশুলিয়ায় পৃথক অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগের তিন নেতাকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী। ৪ জুন ভোরে সাভার মডেল মসজিদের সামনে থেকে আওয়ামী লীগের ওয়ার্ড সভাপতি এরশাদুর রহমানকে বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র-জনতা হত্যা মামলায় গ্রেপ্তার করে পুলিশ। গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে পরিচালিত অভিযানে তাকে আটক করা হয়। একই দিনে আশুলিয়ায় বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে ঢাকা জেলা গোয়েন্দা পুলিশ (ডিবি) আওয়ামী লীগের আরও দুই নেতাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। তারা হলেন ধামসোনা ইউনিয়নের ৮ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুল হালিম মেম্বার (৫৫) এবং ইয়ারপুর ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সোহেল মোল্লা (৩৫)।
ঘটনা নং-১১ : ময়মনসিংহের ভালুকায় ছাত্রলীগের মিছিলের পর মামলা, গ্রেপ্তার ৯
ময়মনসিংহের ভালুকায় নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত সংগঠন ছাত্রলীগের ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় দ্রুত বিচার আইনে করা মামলায় ৯ নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। গত ৬ জুন রাতভর উপজেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে তাদের আটক করা হয় এবং পরে আদালতের মাধ্যমে কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়। পুলিশ জানায়, উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আফসানুল ইসলাম খানের নেতৃত্বে স্কয়ার মাস্টারবাড়ি এলাকায় একটি মিছিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যার ছবি ও ভিডিও সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। এ ঘটনায় ভালুকা মডেল থানার এসআই ফজলুল ইসলাম বাদী হয়ে ৫৫ জনের নাম উল্লেখসহ অজ্ঞাতনামা আরও ২৫-৩০ জনকে আসামি করে মামলা দায়ের করেন। মামলার পরপরই অভিযান চালিয়ে ৯ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়।
ঘটনা নং-১২ : যশোরে বিশেষ অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের ২৩ নেতাকর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
যশোরে বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর সহযোগী সংগঠনের ২৩ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। ৭ জুন দিবাগত রাতে জেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকায় পরিচালিত অভিযানে যশোর কোতোয়ালি থানা এলাকায় ১৩ জন এবং মনিরামপুর, কেশবপুর ও চৌগাছা উপজেলায় আরও ১০ জনকে আটক করা হয়। মনিরামপুরে গ্রেপ্তারদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন সাবেক ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি আব্দুল গফুর ও নজরুল ইসলাম, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগ নেতা মফিজুর রহমান, যুবলীগ নেতা আশরাফুল কবির পলাশ এবং সাবেক ছাত্রলীগ কর্মী জাহিদ হাসান রসি। কেশবপুরে পৌর আওয়ামী লীগের দপ্তর সম্পাদক সালাউদ্দিন ও কৃষক লীগের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক রবিউল ইসলামকে আটক করা হয়। এছাড়া চৌগাছায় উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সদস্য কামরুজ্জামান, যুবলীগ নেতা সোহরাফ হোসেন এবং আওয়ামী লীগের সহ-প্রচার সম্পাদক শফিক হায়দার লাভলুকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ।
ঘটনা নং-১৩ : যশোরে যুবলীগের ঝটিকা মিছিল, গ্রেপ্তার ১০
যশোর শহরের ধর্মতলা এলাকায় ৭ জুন রবিবার বিকেলে যুবলীগের ব্যানারে ২০-২৫ জনের একটি দল বিভিন্ন স্লোগান দিয়ে ঝটিকা মিছিল বের করলে পুলিশ ধাওয়া দিলে তারা ছত্রভঙ্গ হয়ে যায়। পরে ঘটনাস্থলে ডিবি পুলিশ, কোতোয়ালি থানা পুলিশসহ আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা উপস্থিত হয়ে সন্দেহভাজন ১০ জনকে আটক করে। তাদের প্রথমে ডিবি কার্যালয়ে নেওয়া হয় এবং পরে কোতোয়ালি থানায় হস্তান্তর করা হয়। পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, শহরের বাবলাতলা, গরিবশাহ ও পোস্ট অফিসপাড়া এলাকায় এর আগে যুবলীগের ব্যানারে নিষিদ্ধ কার্যক্রমে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে আওয়ামী লীগপন্থী বিভিন্ন মিছিলের ঘটনায়ও বহু নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করে কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-১৪ : যশোরে ছাত্রলীগের পৃথক দুই মিছিলে গ্রেপ্তার ৮ নেতাকর্মী
যশোরে ছাত্রলীগের পৃথক দুটি ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় ৮ নেতাকর্মীকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। গত ৪ ও ৫ জুন পরিচালিত অভিযানে তাদের আটক করা হয় এবং পরে সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনে মামলা দিয়ে আদালতের মাধ্যমে কারাগারে পাঠানো হয়। ৫ জুন জুমার নামাজের পর শার্শা উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের উদ্যোগে বেনাপোল পৌর গেট এলাকায় একটি মিছিল বের হলে ছাত্রদলের নেতাকর্মীদের ধাওয়ায় মিছিলকারীরা দ্রুত সরে যায়। পরে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল ও আশপাশে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে সন্দেহভাজন দুইজনকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। এর আগে ৪ জুন বিকেলে যশোর-নড়াইল মহাসড়কের রোস্তমপুর এলাকায় উপজেলার বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের ছাত্রলীগ নেতাকর্মীদের অংশগ্রহণে আরেকটি মিছিল অনুষ্ঠিত হলে সেখান থেকে ৬ কর্মীকে আটক করা হয়। আটক ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন জিহাদ হাওলাদার, ইয়াসিন আরাফাত নিরব, প্রিন্স, শাহারিয়ার আহমেদ স্বাধীন, তনয় ও তামিম ইকবাল।
ঘটনা নং-১৫ : রাঙামাটিতে আওয়ামী লীগ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের ২১ নেতা-কর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
রাঙামাটি জেলা শহরে ৭ জুন রাতে পরিচালিত বিশেষ অভিযানে আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর সহযোগী সংগঠনের ২১ নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে কোতোয়ালি থানা পুলিশ। শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে আটক ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে রাঙামাটি পৌরসভার ১ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড যুবলীগের সভাপতি জসীম উদ্দিন, সাধারণ সম্পাদক বাবু ত্রিপুরা এবং ৬ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক নরেশ মজুমদারসহ মোট ২১ জন রয়েছেন। পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, সম্প্রতি সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে আওয়ামী লীগের কিছু নেতাকর্মীর তৎপরতা বৃদ্ধি এবং শহরের কয়েকটি এলাকায় দলীয় স্লোগান ও দেয়াললিখনের ঘটনার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে নজরদারি জোরদার করা হয়। এর অংশ হিসেবেই বিশেষ অভিযান পরিচালনা করে তাদের গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-১৬ : লালমনিরহাটে ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় আওয়ামী লীগের ১২ নেতা-কর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
লালমনিরহাটের কালীগঞ্জ ও পাটগ্রাম উপজেলায় ঝটিকা মিছিলের ঘটনায় সাবেক অধ্যক্ষসহ কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধ আওয়ামী লীগ ও এর সহযোগী সংগঠনের ১২ নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। ৫ জুন শহরে মিছিলের পর অভিযান চালিয়ে তাদের আটক করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তারদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন সাবেক অধ্যক্ষ আজিজার রহমান, এরশাদুল হক, যুবলীগ নেতা আশরাফুল হক, ইউপি সদস্য রিপন চন্দ্র রায় ও আনোয়ার হোসেন।

নারায়ণগঞ্জের সিদ্ধিরগঞ্জে ৬ জুন বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ ও যুবলীগের পাঁচ নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। সিদ্ধিরগঞ্জ থানা পুলিশ বিভিন্ন এলাকায় অভিযান পরিচালনা করে তাদের আটক করে। গ্রেপ্তার ব্যক্তিরা হলেন ৭ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড যুবলীগের কর্মী জীবন (৩৪), ৬ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের কর্মী মো. আলম, ৭ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের কর্মী মো. সোহেল (৪৪), ৮ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক আয়নাল মিয়া (৪৫) এবং ৮ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড যুবলীগের সদস্য জাহাঙ্গীর আলম বিদ্যুৎ (৩৫)। পুলিশ জানায়, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনে দায়ের করা মামলায় আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-১৮ : নারায়ণগঞ্জে যুবলীগের ব্যানারে মিছিল, গ্রেপ্তার ৪
নারায়ণগঞ্জ সদর এলাকায় যুবলীগের ব্যানারে মিছিল করে জনমনে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টির অভিযোগে চার নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে সদর মডেল থানা পুলিশ। ১ জুন দিবাগত রাত আনুমানিক ১টা ৪৫ মিনিটে সদর উপজেলার সৈয়দপুর গোলচত্বর এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে তাদের আটক করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তার ব্যক্তিরা হলেন পুরাতন সৈয়দপুর এলাকার মো. শাহিন (৪৩), মো. বিল্লাল হোসেন (৩৮), মো. আমির হোসেন (৪১) এবং বন্দরের মদনগঞ্জ লক্ষারচর এলাকার মো. সম্রাট (৪০)। পুলিশ জানায়, যুবলীগের ব্যানারে মিছিল করে জনমনে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টি এবং আইনশৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি বিঘ্নিত করার অভিযোগে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
ঘটনা নং-১৯ : কিশোরগঞ্জে নিষিদ্ধ ছাত্রলীগের মিছিল, গ্রেপ্তার ৫
কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলা শহরে নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত ছাত্রলীগের শতাধিক নেতাকর্মী ৩ জুন সকালে ঈশা খাঁ রথখলা রোডে একটি ঝটিকা মিছিল বের করে এবং পরে তমালতলা সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের সামনে সমাবেশ করে। মিছিলের ভিডিও সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়ার পর পুলিশ জেলার বিভিন্ন স্থানে অভিযান চালিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগ ও ছাত্রলীগের পাঁচ নেতাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। গ্রেপ্তার ব্যক্তিরা হলেন রশিদাবাদ ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক কাঞ্চন মিয়া, মহিনন্দ ইউনিয়ন স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সোহেল রানা ওরফে রাসেল, জেলা ছাত্রলীগ নেতা আতিকুজ্জামান আলিফ, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা কাঞ্চন এবং চৌদ্দশত ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক আশরাফুল ইমাম শরীফ।
ঘটনা নং-২০ : লক্ষ্মীপুরের রামগঞ্জে বিশেষ অভিযানে আ.লীগের চার নেতাকর্মী গ্রেপ্তার
লক্ষ্মীপুরের রামগঞ্জে বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগের চার নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। গত ৫ জুন পরিচালিত এ অভিযানে আটক ব্যক্তিদের ৬ জুন আদালতের মাধ্যমে জেলহাজতে পাঠানো হয়। পুলিশ জানায়, গত বছরের ১৭ জুলাই দায়ের হওয়া সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনের একটি মামলায় তাদের গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। গ্রেপ্তার ব্যক্তিরা হলেন চণ্ডীপুর ইউনিয়ন ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি মহিবুর রহমান ফাহিম, যুবলীগের সক্রিয় সদস্য সাইফুল ইসলাম আরজু, রুবেল হোসেন এবং পশ্চিম বরিআইশ এলাকার আওয়ামী লীগের সক্রিয় সদস্য শাহ আলম।
ঘটনা নং-২১ : নওগাঁয় মহাসড়কে মিছিলের কারণে ছাত্রলীগের ৩ সদস্য আটক
নওগাঁয় সড়ক অবরোধ, যানবাহন চলাচলে বাধা এবং জনমনে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টির অভিযোগে ছাত্রলীগের তিন সদস্যকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। ১ জুন রাতে নওগাঁ সদর থানা পুলিশ জেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকায় বিশেষ অভিযান চালিয়ে তাদের আটক করে। আটক ব্যক্তিরা হলেন নওগাঁ সদর উপজেলার শেখপুরা এলাকার মানিক ওরফে পাইলট (৩২), মো. সাজু (৪০) এবং হাবিব হোসেন মুন্না (২৮)। পুলিশ জানায়, মহাসড়কে মিছিল ও জনদুর্ভোগ সৃষ্টির অভিযোগে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
ALERTE BANGLADESH : La JMBF exprime sa profonde préoccupation face aux arrestations arbitraires de masse et à l’utilisation abusive de la Loi antiterroriste contre plus de trois cents membres de la Ligue Awami pour leur participation à des rassemblements politiques pacifiques
Paris, France | 09 juin 2026 : L’organisation internationale de défense des droits humains basée en France, JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), exprime sa profonde préoccupation, sa vive indignation et sa ferme protestation face aux arrestations arbitraires de masse, aux poursuites à caractère politique, au harcèlement judiciaire et à l’utilisation abusive de la Loi antiterroriste contre plus de trois cents dirigeants, militants et sympathisants de la Ligue Awami du Bangladesh, de la Ligue étudiante du Bangladesh (Bangladesh Chhatra League) et de la Ligue de la jeunesse (Jubo League) au cours de la première semaine de juin, pour avoir exercé leurs droits constitutionnels de participer à des rassemblements pacifiques, à des réunions publiques et à l’expression politique au Bangladesh.
La JMBF estime que ces actes constituent une grave atteinte à la démocratie, à l’État de droit et aux droits humains fondamentaux dans le pays. La JMBF considère que ces mesures ne sont pas de simples actions isolées relevant du maintien de l’ordre ; elles s’inscrivent plutôt dans une campagne systématique de répression visant à faire taire l’opposition politique, à intimider les voix dissidentes et à restreindre les activités politiques démocratiques.
Selon des informations publiées dans plusieurs journaux nationaux ainsi que des renseignements obtenus auprès de sources fiables propres à la JMBF, au moins 333 dirigeants, militants et sympathisants de la Ligue Awami et de ses organisations affiliées ont été arrêtés lors d’opérations menées dans différentes régions du pays entre le 1er et le 7 juin 2026. Il a été rapporté que des poursuites ont été engagées contre eux en vertu de la Loi antiterroriste et d’autres législations répressives, avant leur placement en détention.
Sur la base des informations publiées dans les médias et vérifiées par la JMBF, le chiffre de 333 arrestations recensées par l’organisation est nettement inférieur à l’ampleur réelle de la situation. La JMBF estime qu’il existe des motifs sérieux de craindre que le nombre réel d’arrestations arbitraires à l’échelle nationale dépasse le millier.
L’arrestation signalée de 17 enfants à Noakhali est particulièrement alarmante. Selon les informations disponibles, ils auraient été inculpés en vertu de la Loi antiterroriste puis incarcérés. L’application d’une telle législation à des enfants ainsi que leur emprisonnement constituent une violation manifeste du droit international des droits humains, de la Convention des Nations Unies relative aux droits de l’enfant et des principes fondamentaux de la justice.
Selon des informations vérifiées reçues par la JMBF, les arrestations arbitraires de dirigeants et militants de la Ligue Awami et de ses organisations affiliées concernent notamment 86 personnes à Chattogram, 57 à Cumilla, 49 à Noakhali, 41 à Jashore, 35 à Dhaka, 21 à Rangamati, 14 à Lalmonirhat, 9 à Narayanganj, 9 à Mymensingh, 5 à Kishoreganj, 4 à Lakshmipur et 3 à Naogaon.
L’examen des informations disponibles indique que, dans la plupart des cas, les mesures prises à l’encontre des personnes concernées étaient liées à leur participation à des rassemblements et manifestations pacifiques, à des slogans politiques, à l’expression de leurs opinions politiques sur les réseaux sociaux ou simplement à leur appartenance politique. Dans de nombreux cas, la nature des accusations et la manière dont la loi a été appliquée semblent être motivées par des considérations politiques.
Les observations de la JMBF suggèrent que les poursuites et arrestations visant un grand nombre de dirigeants, militants et sympathisants pour leur participation à des activités politiques pacifiques, l’expression de slogans politiques, le partage d’opinions sur les réseaux sociaux ou leur identité politique ont donné lieu à de graves allégations d’abus de pouvoir étatique et de violations des droits humains. Dans un État démocratique, considérer le désaccord politique comme une infraction pénale et appliquer des lois sévères telles que la Loi antiterroriste contre les partisans d’idéologies politiques opposées est incompatible avec la justice, l’État de droit et les normes internationales relatives aux droits humains.
La JMBF estime que ces arrestations arbitraires de masse, ces poursuites à caractère politique, ce harcèlement judiciaire et l’application de lois répressives — menés dans le but de réprimer la dissidence politique, de semer la peur parmi les partisans de l’opposition et d’entraver les activités politiques démocratiques — sont contraires à la justice, aux droits humains et aux valeurs démocratiques.
Le fondateur et président de la JMBF, l’éminent avocat spécialisé dans les droits humains, Maître Shahanur Islam, a déclaré :
« La liberté d’expression, le droit de réunion pacifique et le droit de participer à la vie politique sont des droits humains fondamentaux reconnus au niveau international. En tant qu’État partie au Pacte international relatif aux droits civils et politiques (PIDCP), le Bangladesh est tenu, en vertu de ses obligations internationales, de protéger ces droits. Pourtant, les récents événements donnent à penser que des individus sont ciblés et soumis à des mesures répressives en raison de leur identité et de leurs convictions politiques, ce qui est extrêmement préoccupant pour tout État démocratique. »
La JMBF exhorte vivement le gouvernement nouvellement formé du Bangladesh, les autorités compétentes et les forces de l’ordre à :
- Libérer immédiatement et sans condition toutes les personnes arrêtées pour avoir participé à des activités politiques pacifiques ;
- Retirer immédiatement toutes les poursuites infondées, abusives et motivées politiquement engagées contre elles ;
- Abandonner toutes les poursuites engagées contre les enfants, assurer leur libération immédiate et mettre en place des mesures appropriées de réhabilitation ;
- Mettre fin à l’utilisation politique abusive de la Loi antiterroriste et d’autres lois ;
- Garantir les droits constitutionnels à l’expression politique, à la liberté d’association et à la réunion pacifique ;
- Assurer une enquête impartiale, indépendante et conforme aux normes internationales sur les allégations d’arrestations arbitraires de masse, de persécutions politiques, de harcèlement judiciaire et de violations des droits humains ;
- Lever immédiatement toutes les restrictions imposées aux activités politiques de la Ligue Awami du Bangladesh et de ses organisations affiliées et garantir leur pleine participation, libre et sans entrave, à l’organisation politique, à la liberté d’expression, aux rassemblements pacifiques et aux activités politiques démocratiques.
La JMBF appelle les Nations Unies, l’Union européenne, les organisations internationales de défense des droits humains, les missions diplomatiques ainsi que les institutions mondiales engagées en faveur de la démocratie et des droits humains à surveiller de près la répression politique en cours au Bangladesh, les arrestations arbitraires de masse, les poursuites motivées politiquement, le harcèlement judiciaire et les restrictions à la liberté d’expression, et à prendre des mesures efficaces pour protéger les droits humains.
Dans un État démocratique, le désaccord politique ne devrait jamais être considéré comme une infraction pénale. Les arrestations arbitraires de masse, les poursuites motivées politiquement et l’utilisation abusive de la législation antiterroriste contre des citoyens pour leur participation à des activités politiques pacifiques constituent une grave menace pour les fondements démocratiques du pays, les droits humains et l’État de droit. La JMBF condamne fermement de telles pratiques et exige qu’il soit mis fin immédiatement à ces mesures répressives.
