The Founder and President of JMBF has received repeated threats, death threats, intimidation, arbitrary arrest, detention, ill-treatment, physical assault, and harassment by law enforcement, security personnel, and local powerful groups due to advocacy against torture, extrajudicial killings, and organized violence, as well as efforts to ensure the rights of ethnic, religious, social, and sexual minorities in Bangladesh.
